殺人事件の容疑者が離婚した妻との間の息子だと知った刑事が、
刑事と父親の立場で苦悩する姿を描く。


俳優のデ・ニーロが好きで、たまたま買ってみたDVDだったのですが
これが心に響く素晴らしい映画で、感動して目頭が熱くなりました。

社会的にみて、いい者？（刑事役）を演じるデ・ニーロを観たのは初めてだったので
最初は不思議な感じがしましたが、すぐに物語に引き込まれました。


それにしてもデ・ニーロの演技はすごいですね。
その役柄の立場から怒りや悲しみ、落胆、そして優しさなど
いろいろな表情を披露してくれてます。
映画がよく出来ている事もありますが、デ・ニーロの役は
とてもつらい立場におかれていくため、胃が苦しくなるくらい
観る人を確実に感情移入させると思います。

物語の詳しい説明は省きますが、とにかく引っぱりに引っぱって
ラストに感動が待っていますので、映画で涙を流したい人は
是非観てほしいですね。

死刑囚になった父親の影を引きずりながら自分は刑事として生活してきた男が、ドラッグの売人殺人容疑で追っていたのは実の息子だった。
自分の息子が容疑者になり、忘れたい過去が甦る。
父も息子も殺人者、周りの冷たい視線、「暴力的な血筋」という言葉がささる。
この辺さすがデニーロ、文句なしです。父親のことが原因で結婚しても息子との関係を上手く築けなかったという人物像はよく伝わってきます。
父の愛に飢え、ドロ沼に落ちていく息子を演じるのはジェームズ・フランコ。彼はいいです！
父親と会って「父親に捨てられた」となじるシーンの投げやりで頑なな姿、警察に包囲された時のデニーロとのやりとり、どちらも演技派として高い評価を受けるだけあって見事！
娯楽映画という感じではなく、しみじみ見て親子の絆を考える作品です。

ロバート・デニーロ主演の親子を題材にした映画。

デニーロ扮する刑事と、彼の父親との関係。
彼と離婚した妻が育てた彼の実の息子との関係。
父との間で自分のうけた心の傷の故に、息子との関係がぎくしゃくしてしまう刑事。
むすこは、父を慕う気持ちと裏腹に、素直に表せない。
なんて・・・書いたってよくわかんないかもしれないけど、デニーロの表情がいい。

ジェーム・ディーンの「エデンの東」をちょっと思い出した。

人を殺し、また別の人殺しの容疑者になってしまったヤクチュウの息子とふたりきりで会うシーンが胸をつく。
必死の思いで心の蓋を開いて語る刑事(デニーロ)。
その気持ちを無言で感じ取る息子・・・・
最後に、残された孫を育てながら息子を待つシーンが眼に残る。
