ex-Don Caballero,Storm and StressのIan Williams,ex-HelmetのJohn Stanierが在籍する、大注目のバンドです。
Don Caballero後期あたりから顕著になってきた、スティーブライヒに影響を受けたと思われる、
ミニマルミュージックの方法論をロックに持ち込むというスタイルを、
このバンドではさらに前進させています。
ミニマルな電子音＋ギターにポリリズムのドラムが絡み、確実に新しい世界を作り上げてます！
ちなみに音源発表前の来日時のライヴでは、ベース音担当ギター,ギター＋シンセが２人、
ドラムという４人編成で演奏したのですが、ループディレイを駆使して
シンセの音をループ・あるいは重ねたり、さらにはギターの左手タッピング
＋右手で鍵盤を操りユニゾンさせるという離れ業を披露
（しかも２人同時に！）して、完全に再現＋αという驚愕の演奏でした。
ep三部作の中でも、この盤はBattlesというバンドを始めて知るのに最も適しているように思います。
音楽の実験性を最高にクールに実践してます。必聴！

いや~BATTLES二枚目のシングル、またやってくれましたね。今年初めのPEAK WEEK というオルタナフェスの際来日していてたまたまライブを観たのですがホント一目惚れ！こんなバンドがまだいたとは。。。世の中捨てたもんじゃないすね。激鬼ドラマーJohn Stanierが織り成すグルーヴはまじで一見の価値ありすぎ！そのビートに複雑にそして心地よく絡んでくるギター、キーボード、電子音の嵐！間違いなく一個上のレベルいってます！ジャンル的にはオルタナかポストロックなのかな？いやジャズ的なところも、いやプログレ的なところも。。。そんなこたぁどうでもいい！かっこいいんだから

　アイデアが素晴らしい。ミニマルをロックにぶち込むというアイデアが。ミニマリズムを実践したバンドはクラウトロックに幾つか散見され、全く新しいアイデアではないです。Kraftwerk、Can、Faustなど…。しかしそれらは皆、ギターやヴォーカルはリード楽器として機能していました。しかしBattlesはその逆をやった。ギターやベースをミニマルにし、ドラムをそれに乗せて叩くというコロンブスの卵的な発想です。

　何が言いたいかというと、もうEPでは満足できない！早くアルバムが欲しい！このサウンドに浸りきりたい！！！

　…それだけです。
