ありがちなサクセスストーリーではあるが実は内容がしっかりしていて面白い。
主役に高橋克典と無名の新人中島美嘉を起用した事でキャスト的に？と思って見るのをパスした人が多かったので視聴率が悪かったのだと思う。

高橋克典のひたむきな演技は見ているものを共感させ、ドラマにのめりこませてゆく。
劇中歌であり主題歌のＳＴＡＲＳは今でも中島美嘉の最高傑作だと思う。

　『傷だらけのラブソング』は中島美嘉の名曲にして代表曲“Stars”を世に出す場となったドラマです。今や2000年代を代表するディーバとなった中島美嘉ですが、彼女が世に出た軌跡が虚実ない交ぜになり、等身大の彼女が心に突き刺さります。彼女は実際鹿児島時代は手の付けられないワルで、根性の座った目つき、「知るか」など吐き捨てるような台詞の一つ一つ、悲しみや喜びに向き合う真っ直ぐさ、そして折り紙付きに素晴らしい歌声、等々、演技を超えたリアリティがこのドラマを支えています。ドラマ制作陣はよくぞこれ程までの適役を捜し当てたものだと思います。
　彼女に食われた感じですがその他の主役も皆本当に素晴らしい。自己を罰するかのように底辺をさまよい、再起の意識が目覚めても曲が書けなくなる吉村。ドラマ前半の世界を切り回していた妹の川原由佳は終盤フェイドアウトしてしまいます。スーパー・シンガー島崎未来を生むための肥やしになってしまったのですが、加藤あいの清新さが前向きな人物像を造りました。成功しても吉村の影に追われる江崎。わずかな登場ながら圧倒的な存在感でドラマの核を作るマイク真木と峰岸徹…。脚本の尾崎氏は人間というものを知り抜いていると思わされます。
　これだけ登場人物達が悩み、苦しみ、もがき続けたドラマだったにも関わらず、最後のライブ、“Crescent Moon”のセッションはこの上ない至福感に満ちています。まさしく大団円です。このドラマに登場する人達がみな音楽を愛し、夢を実現しようと真摯に生き、そして皆何らかの落ち着き場所を得ていきます。それがこのシーンに結実しています。
　“Stars”は本当に名曲です。ドラマ中何度も流れるこの“Stars”。吉村と未来と、それに関わった人達が作り上げた“Stars”。色々な人間の生き様がこの曲に流れ込み、そして今もなお星は輝き続けるのです。本当に良いですよ。みんな見て下さい。

中島美嘉さんのデビュー作。ＳＴＡＲＳも初々しくてとてもいいです。リアルに今の音楽業界が描かれていて、ストーリーも面白いです。今は痩せこけてしまって島崎未来の見る影もなくなってしまった中島さんですが、この頃は最高です！中島さんＦＡＮ以外の方でも必見だと思います！中島さんが嫌いな方でも好きになるかも？？
