確固としたキャリアと実力を確立しているケニー･バロンだが、自己の様々なグループでの活動に加え、プロデューサーとしての活躍にも注目したい。
本作では、日本ではほとんど知られていない新星をレギュラーに迎え素晴らしい「新風」を巻き起こしている。

キム・トンプソン（ｄ）は、力強さの中にも鋭さを兼ね備えた繊細なplayを聴かせる。フルートのアン・ドラモンドもクリスタルのような美しい音から底から込み上げるような力強い音まで自在に表現する。
キムとアン同様若手ながらも、既に名実ともに認められたステフォン・ハリス（vib)は、二人を挑発するようにどんどんとメロディを先に引っ張っていく。

そんな、とどまるところを知らないパワーを、厚みと温かさのある北川潔（b)の柔軟性に富んだベース・ラインが着実にコントロールしていく。
そして、それらを支えながらも、時折ど真ん中に飛び込んでいって、大暴れをするケニー･バロンの凛とした音。

５つの個性的な要素が一瞬一瞬、ぶつかり、交わるたびに違った「Image」を聴く側に与えてくれる、無限大の可能性を持ったグループだと感じる。

これからのＪＡＺＺを切り開いていく新しい才能を見出し、外に出し、自身も彼等からインスピレーションを得て更に新しい境地を切り開いて進んでいく。

ケニー・バロンは、本当に音楽とＪＡＺＺを愛するplayerなんだなと感じた。

海外では、既にこのグループでのLiveやツアーが行われているが、残念なことに日本では、「まだ」である！
是非、生で聴く機会が近い将来訪れる事を願いたい。

5.0 out of 5 stars 女性を起用した、現代版オパス・デ・ジャズ, 2004/6/21
ケニー・バロンの新作の楽器編成は、オパス・デ・ジャズと同じ編成ですが、このＣＤには、もっと硬質で締まった演奏が詰まっています。
ケニー・バロンと北川さん以外の３人は、ほぼ新人の女性です。

ケニー・バロンの、明瞭な粒立ちのピアノは、饒舌にならずにツボを押さえた渋みのある演奏です。

ヴァイヴが、ミルト・ジャクソンよりもボビー・ハッチャーソンに近い演奏で、曲調によく合っています。
フルート奏者も、アルト・フルートを多用しており、中高音の響きが、落ち着いた印象を与えています。

ドラムは、最初はちょっと軽めかなと思いましたが、聞き返してみると意外と合っています。必要な部分に、必要なだけの手数が入っているところも、好感を持ちました。
ベースの北川さんは、ソロは少ないけど、硬質なリズムを下からブイブイとドライヴさせるウォーキングが最高！

演奏者の肩に力が入っていないため、繰り返して聴くほどに、どんどんと味わいが出てくる好アルバムです。
