   青春。夏。恋。友情。孤独。映画のでは使い古された、ある意味“クサすぎる”テーマに、これほどまでに優しく寄り添い、登場人物の切ない心情をすくいとった作品は少ない。そして年月が経っても、その色は褪せることがない。まさに青春映画の傑作である。一貫してゲイを題材に作品を撮り続ける橋口亮輔監督なので、本作の主人公、伊藤クンも同級生の男子にあこがれる。対象となる吉田は、優等生の清水彩子と微妙な関係。そんな伊藤と吉田の様子に興味を持った転校生の相原果沙音が、彼らの間に波風を立てていく。
   恋なのか、あこがれなのか、嫌いなのか。登場人物の曖昧な心がそのまま描かれることで、教室での男同士のキスシーンも、笑いを誘いながらどこか崇高な雰囲気を漂わせる。多くの人が、主要人物6人の誰かに自分を重ね合わせてしまうのは、キャラ設定のうまさだろう。まぶしい光、青い海など夏の映像も効果的。果沙音役は浜崎あゆみだが、心の陰を隠す名演技で、ぜひ女優業にカムバックしてほしい！ そして伊藤役、岡田義徳。夏の終わりに一瞬みせる、満ち足りた彼の表情は永遠に忘れがたい。秋の風とともに、少年は大人になるのだ。（斉藤博昭）

ずっとずっとこの映画がDVDになるのを待ち続けていた映画です。
男の子に恋する男の子の話ですが、その初恋模様にとても”胸が痛くなる思い”を経験しました。
邦画ならではの傑作！だと思います。
当時、まだフレッシュで若々しい浜崎あゆみはとても存在感がありますし、
主人公である伊藤役の岡田義徳君の逸材ぶりもあますところなく味わえます。

リアルで、どこか懐かしい青春映画だと思います。

はっきりいって、好みはあると思う。
ちょっと、ななめな見方を時々感じるけど、
他の監督にはないやわらかい中間的な感覚がある。
終わった後に、すかっと何も残らない、
ただただ気持ちのいい映画が好きな人にとっては、
そう好きになれる映画ではないかもしれない。
終わった後に、じんわり身体に染みてくるような映画、
そういう映画が好きなら、
先入観なく、一度見てみて欲しい。

~橋口作品は、リアリティーがあって切なくてどれも好きですが
この『渚のシンドバッド』は、１７歳という多感な時期の綺麗さ（無垢さというのか）長崎の風景（ラストのほう）の美しさは秀逸です。
岡田義徳も草野康太も浜崎あゆみも、みんなすごく良い演技をしています。
何となく１７歳の世界に戻ったような気がする、切ない出会いのストーリーです。

セクシュアリティ問わず、人を好きになることが何かよいもんだと思わせてくれる
作品です。~
