好企画、GREAT CONDUCTORS OF THE 20TH CENTURYシリーズのフリッツ・ライナー編です。
ライナーのアメリカにおける50年代の演奏を中心に、貴重な音源が目白押しです。中でも、シカゴ響とのブラームス：「悲劇的序曲」はスピード感に溢れた凄い気迫の超名演。ギレリスとのブラームス：「ピアノ協奏曲第2番」はリマスタリングが成功して臨場感最高。モーツァルトの「リンツ」（シカゴ響）は同曲のベストを争うのでは？と思わせるほどの名演。ベートーヴェン：「コリオラン-序曲」（シカゴ響）、R.シュトラウス：「ティル〜」（RCAビクター響）もすばらしい。メンデルスゾーン、R.シュトラウス、ファリャは、初CD化。これは買いです。
