5.0 out of 5 stars 日本人による本格派R&Bバンドのデビュー作, 2005/8/16
おそらくこのアルバムが出た当時、この演奏力と黒っぽさに周りのGSバンドは相当ビビったんじゃないでしょうか。ブルース、ソウルもOK、ブリティッシュロック、サイケ、ガレージパンクもOK、そしてヒット曲も狙える実力とおまけにアイドルとしても人気のあったルックスの良さなど、これだけ兼ね揃えていたGSバンドは他にいなかったでしょう。1,7も日本語によるロックとしては、この当時の頂点だったんじゃないでしょうか。自分たちの志向をこれだけ前面に押し出して商業的にも成功したGSバンドは、彼らが最初でしょう。

ニッポンと外国、エゴイズムとスノビズム、ロックンロールと歌謡曲、塀の内と外、エロスとタナトス。そういったものが交錯し、止揚していく様。
全曲駄曲なしだがなんといっても「モジョ・ワーキング」の痙攣するような間奏部の激烈な疾走、一般的概念を超越したベースラインと共に暴力的衝動が満ち溢れる「ヘイ・ジョー」の無軌道、そして極めつけのサイケデリック歌謡「銀色のグラス」の全てが本作のハイライト。これだけでお釣りがくる。しかしこの××さは若さゆえの無鉄砲なのか、時代/環境ゆえの前進性なのか。間違いなく傑作の一枚。
