3.0 out of 5 stars '65年絶頂期ライブをスクィーズ映像で見たかった！, 2004/7/14
~このタイトルの最大のウリは、1965年当時、日本中の多くのエレキファンが見たくとも見られなかったベンチャーズ来日公演の模様を収めていることだろう。現在のベンチャーズの演奏とはまったく異なり、別の曲かと思えるほど強烈なグルーブ感に満ちあふれた演奏を披露している。その絶頂期のステージから14曲を収録、すでにVHS、LDでも同タイトルは販売されており、~~演奏見たさに購入されたファンも多いはず。ベンチャーズの原点ここにあり、と言っても過言ではない歴史的映像だ。

しかし、今回のDVD化にあたって、なぜスクィーズ映像収録してくれなかったのであろうか。この作品はワイドスクリーンの映画として作られているが、DVD化にあたりVHSやLDと同じ4：3テレビ画面用のワイド映像とは何とも芸がない。あのダイナミックな演奏を16：9横長テレビの画面一杯に見たかった。DVD化においてスクィーズ映像収録を期待していた向きにはバツである。~~だって、このタイトルを購入しようというファンは、すでにVHS版やLD版を所有している人が多いはず。東芝さん何で~、スクィーズ映像で出し直して！~

廃盤だった名作のＤＶＤ化ですね。１９６５年任期絶頂のコンサートとオフの来日ドキュメント。声優さんによる吹き替えも時代を感じていいです。
しかし音声はステレオを意識して「ベンチャーズインジャパンＶＯＬ２」を
流用しています。モノラルで良いのでオリジナルの音声で聞かせてください。

あなたもそう思うでしょ？ただ完全版のＣＤでも未収録の、ドンウィルソンの
歌う「フィール・ソー・ファイン」が聞けるのは凄い事です。
