　もともと辻ちゃん加護ちゃんの大ファンだったので、Wとしての出発を楽しみにしていた。しかし、CD発売より前に、テレビの音楽番組でのあまりに可愛いパフォーマンスを何回か見て、彼女たちの実力ならもっともっと面白く歌いこなせそうなのにと少しだけがっかりしていた。（私がザ・ピーナッツの迫力と味わいを記憶している世代であることも災いしたか。）

　そこで、CDのほうも内容はあまり期待せずに購入した。しかし、聴いて驚嘆。３曲ともに完成度の高さに感動した。　

　声がキュートであるというだけ、あるいは、キュートなセクシーさを演出するための既存のテクニック（語尾を上げる歌い方など）を習得しているというだけにとどまっていない。辻・加護のそれぞれの持ち味である、直線性、曲線性が、ふたりがメロディラインを交替で捉えるなどの工夫により、ダイナミックに絡み合っている。

　シングル全体として、懐かしさ、安定感をたたえつつ、今っぽさ、Wらしさをぽんぽんと印象的に前に出してくる感じがあって、実に面白かった。DVDが出たら購入するつもりではいるが、音だけでも十分楽しめる。

伝説はここから始まる。Ｗ[ダブルユー]のデビューＣＤは、充実の３曲収録マキシである。予想外に正攻法のつくりと確かな歌唱力で構成され、左右に振り分けられた２人のハーモニー（右が辻、左が加護）を楽しむことができる。ハッピーサマーウェディング「ぱらっぱら、ぱらっぱら、」のコーラスだけでも四苦八苦していた頃と比べると、隔世の感がある。辻・加護コンビの（特に辻の）著しい成長を見せ付けられる作品。 アルバムにも期待が持てる。

~「恋のバカンス」。
ザ・ピーナッツの原曲はビッグバンドのアレンジで、しっとりとしたハーモニーを聴かせる曲でしたが、ダブルユー版の「恋のバカンス」はロックンロール調で、ノリノリな感じに仕上がっています。
しかし、オリジナルと同じようにハモっているようなので、オリジナルを知る人もそうでない人も楽しめる楽曲になっていると思います。

C/W。

「月影のナポリ」。
ブギウギのリズムが楽しいです。
甘えたようなしゃくり上げ唱法が印象が残ります。

「悲しき16才」。
オールディーズの名曲を、少々やり過ぎではないかと思わせるほど、セクシーに歌い上げています。
思わず目が点になります(^_^;)

全体的にミニモニ。時代の辻さん、加護さんを想像していると良い方に裏切られるように思えました。

この分なら、アルバムの方も期待が持てそうです。~
