この人のアイドル全盛期のアルバムは、キュートな「聖子ワールド」に溢れていて、いわゆる捨て曲がなくて、声もよく出ていた。その独特の声質と天性の表現力ゆえ、どんな曲を唱っても彼女が唱うと「聖子の歌」になるような気がみんなしていた。それが９０年代に入って、セルフ・プロデュースをし始めて、実はそうではないことが露見した。「聖子らしさ」というのはあまたのブレーン達が完成させたシステムであって、そこから外れるものは一向に輝かなかった。３年ぶりのアルバム制作にあたり、プロデューサーの原田真二は相当「聖子らしさ」を復習し、研究したのではないか。捨て曲のない、あっと言う間の１１ワールド。ファン２５年目、涙が出るほど嬉しい完成度。

生まれて初めて買ってしまった歌謡曲ジャンル。
「逢いたい」が、気を引いた。
もし、先入観無しで聞いたら、聖子はれっきとした「シンガー」に思えたかもしれない。
いや、これからは、そう思う事にしよう。

それぞれの曲が全然違う装いで、今までのアイドル的イメージを彷彿とさせる歌から、新しい音符に挑戦したような楽曲まで楽しめます。聖子ワールドをさらに広げた感じのする今回のアルバムは、時間をかけた分、ここ数年のうちではかなり高い評価のできる内容となっています。原田真二のカラーが強く出ていながらそれに松田聖子が染まりきっているわけでなく、逆に新しい境地に入り込んだかのような、今までにない世界を堪能できる作品です。聖子ファンじゃなくても強くお薦めできるアルバムです。
