初めて聴くはずなのに、そう感じさせない曲です。
コンビニで買い物をしているときに、ふと耳に入ってきたのですが、どうしても最後まで聞きたくなって、そのまま５分もコンビニの中をうろうろしていました（笑）。

確か朝日新聞だったと思いますが、インタビューで「てろてろ」という矢野さんご自身の造語の意味を「『てくてく』と『とろとろ』の間ぐらいの気持ちの早さ」と語っていました。

僕自身は「てろてろ」をテレビで聴いて興味を持ち、購入しましたが、「てろてろ」も含め、「闇の現」、「ニーナ」に関しても、どこかで聴いたことのあるような、けれどもやっぱり新しい、そんな印象を受けました。

「てろてろ」を初めて聴いたときは正直、一時期のジブリっぽい曲だなぁと思いましたが、買って歌詞カードを読んでみて、ジブリならこういう歌詞にはなりそうでならないだろうなと思ったり（歌詞の中での気持ちの揺れ具合とか特に）。

「闇の現」は僕にはジャズに聴こえるんですけど、ジャズにしては歌詞が、あえて例えればかなり前の日本の幻想(恐怖)小説といった趣き(「闇の現/夢の写し絵/それは真実」とか)のかなり独特なもので、これもかなり新鮮に響きました。

「ニーナ」は、ニーナという名の椅子にまつわる物語を歌った長い曲なのですが、思わず行間を読みたくなるような歌詞で聴くたびに空想してしまいます。今まで椅子の周りで繰り広げられてきた色々な人生や椅子が辿ってきた旅の中の数々の「音」が、椅子から溢れ出してくる終盤は圧巻(しかもその音達を「歌う」のではなく「読む」という矢野さんの手法もすごい)です。

10分以上の「ニーナ」が収録されているのでシングルとしては長い部類に入るのですが、それでも落ち着いて聴くにはやっぱり短いので、早くアルバムを聴きたいです。それからきっとライブも良いんだろうなぁ、行きたいなぁ、と思ってしまうような魅力もあり、近所に来てくれる日を楽しみにしています。付け加えると「歌小屋の2階」のある高知に住んでいる人が今、とてつもなく羨ましいです。

「てろてろ」も心にじ~んときてイイ曲なんですが、３曲目の「ニーナ」もかなり良いです。
１０分以上もあって、詩が物語になってるんですね。
ある椅子が主人公（？）で、時が流れて椅子に座る周りの人や環境がどんどん変わっていくんです。
その詩がなんかすごく切なくて哀しくて懐かしくて。

まず詩だけを読んでから曲を聴くのもオススメです。ちょっと泣けるかも。
矢野さんの曲は、まず詩に共感し、メロディーに引き込まれ、歌声に魅せられます。
これからの活躍に期待大☆

歌詞がとてもいいですね。歌の中で歌詞がはっきりと聞こえるし、これからも様々な曲を歌っていってほしいですね。
