   本作は、プレイヤーが馬主となり資金をやり繰りしながら競走馬を育て上げていく競馬シミュレーションの決定版。2004年度の最新中央競馬データに対応しており、もちろん種牡馬や繁殖牝馬などのデータは最新のものになっている。種牡馬、騎手、調教師、馬主、牧場のデータを自由に書き換えられるエディット機能がポイント。ナリタブライアンやライスシャワなどの名馬たちのスペシャル種牡馬データも150頭分が用意されており、ファン納得の内容といえよう。

   ほかにも本作の特徴として、さまざまドラマを通して新人騎手を一人前のジョッキーに育て上げていく「人騎手育成システム」やレースシーンやイベントの強化など、「競馬」を取り巻く人間や事象にもスポットがあてられ、よりゲーム世界に没入できる工夫がされている。前作『Winning Post 6』のデータの引継ぎが可能だったり、ほか『Winning Post』シリーズ生産馬との対戦や、『ジーワンジョッキー』シリーズで育てた騎手を登場させられるなどデータリンクの結びつきの強さは、コーエー競馬シリーズのファンには嬉しいところだろう。（横井道治）

前作では内からの差し追い込みは負けパターンになっていて
外枠にいってくれないと勝てなかった。
今回はそれが改善されていて不満はほぼなくなりました。
種牡馬、牧場、騎手などのエディット機能が付いたのもうれしい。

６では前が壁になって内からでは勝てなかったのが、今回のではそれが解消されてる。それと新しく付いたエディット機能もいいです。ほぼ不満がなくなりました。

前作からのマイナーチェンジではありますが、レースシーンの
不満点がしっかり解消されていました。
前作のような「上がり２０秒台」の末脚で馬群に突っ込む事は
もうありません（笑）
名前変更等、各種エディット機能が付いたのも嬉しいポイント。
外国人騎手・公営競馬の騎手、全部の馬主までエディットできたら

更に良かったと思いましたが、これは次に期待します。

とりあえず迷うことなく「買い」です！
