 『GO』の金城一紀の同名小説を原作に、記憶を無くすことを恐れる青年と、失われた妻の記憶を取り戻そうとする初老の男の旅を通して、それぞれの人生を見つめなおしていくヒューマン映画で、監督はテレビ出身でこれが映画デビューとなった西谷真一。動脈瘤に倒れるも、手術をして記憶が喪失する危険があることを知った野崎（大沢たかお）は、医者への返事もせずに無気力な日々を過ごしていた。そんな折、彼は初老の弁護士・鳥越（柄本明）を東京から鹿児島まで車で送るバイトの仕事を請けるのだが…。
   意外とロードムービー的な疾走感は薄いが、柄本明が見事に画面を席巻しており、その存在感だけで十分本作は魅力的かつ感動的だ。それを受ける大沢たかおも良い。（的田也寸志）

柄本明の野崎(大沢たかお)を受け容れるような演技。
大沢たかおの素直に鳥越(柄本明)に向かう演技。
素敵でした。
野崎と鳥越の心の変化がよく描かれていて、素直に感動出来る作品でした。

正直あまり期待せずに観たため、見終わった後の感動は一入だった。
記憶を失うことを恐れている野崎、記憶を取り戻そうとする鳥越。互いに影響しあい、次第に心を開いていく過程は見ていてとても心地良い。
鳥越が妻の遺品を受け取るラストシーンは愛情に満ち溢れていて、胸にくるものがあった。
個人的に好きなシーンは野崎が夢の中で鳥越の妻と会話をするシーン。ああいう雰囲気、たまらなく好き。静かで美しかった。

この作品は、派手に宣伝されることもなかったが、昨今まれなすばらしい作品だと思う。
何と言っても、柄本明の圧巻の演技と存在感。共に旅をする大沢たかおの存在感も、柄本氏とは違った存在感で作品をすばらしいものにしている。
特に目的の地、指宿に辿り着き、ホスピスの看護士から妻の遺品を受け取るシーンは、柄本氏による役の見事な体現により、涙を流さずにはいられないものである。
ありきたりな表現かもしれないが、「生きる」ことに前向きになれる作品であると、私は思う。
