このＣＤの録音は、1、4、7、8曲目が旧メンバーで歌われており、残りの曲が現在のメンバーの歌唱です。その上質のワインのような芳醇な香りを伴ったハーモニーの素晴らしさは、メンバーの新旧を問いませんし、最高級のア・カペラだと感じました。

「蘇州夜曲」といった懐かしい戦前流行した最高のバラードをこのようなステキなハーモニーで聴くとその印象もかわりますね。ジャジーなアレンジがとても凝っています。曲の雰囲気を壊さない編曲ですし、旧メンバーの貞國公洋さんの編曲が温かく、とても癒されましたね。日本語の発音もキレイで、穏やかな気分になりました。

ディズニーの名曲「星に願いを」のアレンジと歌唱は夢の世界へと誘ってくれました。
デューク・エリントンのテーマ曲でもあった「A列車で行こう」のジャジーな編曲もまたお手本のような切れ味でした。ヴォイス・トランペットと、ヴォイス・パーカッションのアレンジは、とても凝っており、なかなかマネができない素晴らしさです。
オシャレで、聴くものをハッとさせます。

オリジナル曲の「Sonnet」、「しあわせもあこがれも」も、旧メンバーで歌われています。貞國公洋さんや川江美奈子さんがまだ独立する前で、二人の作詞・作曲によるものです。今、お二人ともそれぞれ素晴らしい音楽活動をされていますので、そう言う意味でも「トライトーン」時代の貴重な録音といえるでしょう。

勿論、「きよしこの夜」を初めとする後半の4曲のクリスマス・ソングはゴージャスなアレンジでした。クリスマスの時期だけでなく、いつ聴いても温かい雰囲気に浸れます。

日本でもいろんなアカペラアルバムが出てきたけど、
このアルバムは屈指の名盤として記憶されるだろう。
カバーはもちろん、オリジナル曲が素晴らしい。
「SONNET」や「しあわせもあこがれも」は、日本アカペラ史に残る名曲。
どうやったらこんなにすごい曲を作れるんだろう。
聴いて、歌って、いつまでも未来に伝えたい。
