スカーやドクターの登場で話が加速気味ですが、
エドやアルの国家への小さな抵抗も見逃せないはず。
マスタング大佐に何と言われようと、エドは自分の信じる道を模索
しますが、そこに忍び寄る影もちらほら…。
中盤に入り始めたので面白みも増してきましたね。

ついに原作には詳しく登場していなかった大佐の過去・・・もといイシュヴァール虐殺の問題シーンが！
この巻ではその頃、国家錬金術師達が「賢者の石」を使ってイシュヴァール人を虐殺したシーン（ショッキング映像はありません）が出てくるのですが、普段冷静沈着でクールな大佐が初めて自分のしたことに苦悩するシーンが登場します。

もちろん「賢者の石」を作ったマルコー氏の苦悩も描かれています。
今までイシュヴァール殲滅の真実を知らなかったエドとアルはこの話をマルコー氏から聞いて、軍人が信じられなくなってしまいます。
マスタング大佐達をどこまで信じたらいいのか・・・。

そして執拗に襲ってくるスカー。ここでアルは重傷を負ってしまい、絶体絶命のピンチに・・・。その時、兄であるエドワードが取った行動は・・・。ピンチピンチと段々佳境に入っていきます。
ハラハラドキドキする巻な上にかなりシリアスなので必見です。

この辺りから、アニメは盛り上がっていくのですが、特に私がすすめるのは、１６話『失われたもの』の回です。

正直、この回を最後まで見るまでは、リゼンブールに戻るまでのつなぎなんだろうなと思っていました。
しかし、
ロイはじめ、軍人を信用できなくなったエド。
行方不明（笑）のアルを捜して出会った少女と老人。
老人との会話が印象深いです。

「失ったものがあるなら、もう何かを得ているのではないか」
それがいったい何なのか、この作品に隠されたテーマの一つのように私は思えました。
今は、アルと自分の身体を取り戻すことに精一杯のエドですが、いつか何を得たかわかる時が来るでしょうか。

その他の回の見所としては、１５話が、マルコーがイシュバール戦を語る部分。

１７話は…最後のあたりで、夕方ロックベル家に戻るシーン。
１８話はスカーＶＳラスト＆グラトニーの戦闘シーンですね。

ともかく、今回も目が話せないです！
