これだけのヒット曲があって＼1,200とは、かなりのお買い得CDです。
オリジナル盤を買いそろえるのも大変なことです。
まず、このベスト盤を買ってみて。
クアトロが好みに合えば随時CDを集めたら良いと思います。
このアルバムの評価は当然５星です。納得いく作品なのでオススメのCDです。

レザースーツに身を包み、ベース抱えてブギーをかます。
そのヒステリックで甲高い声は、どこかあどけなく、本当に魅力的。
大御所ジョーン・ジェットは彼女をアイドルに音楽活動していたというのもうなずける。

ヒット曲満載のこのアルバム、本当におススメです！
これを聴きながらの車の運転には、くれぐれもご注意を！

「悪魔とドライブ」や「キャン・ザ・キャン」などで知られる女性ロッカー、スージー・クアトロによる一連のヒット曲を収めたベスト盤です。リアルタイムの記憶ではイギリスのヒットチャートを賑わして日本での人気に飛び火したので、てっきり英国出身の人だと思い込んでいましたが、実際は1950年生まれで米国ミシガン州はデトロイト出身です。どうやら2007年のいまも活動中とのことです。

長い金髪を振り乱し独特のダミ声でシャウトする女性ロッカーと言えば、ジャニス・ジョプリンが先輩としていましたが、スージー・クアトロはそのワイルドな魅力に加えて、ビジュアル的にも衝撃を与えました。黒の皮ジャンのツナギを素肌にまとい、小柄な身体にフェンダーの大きなベースをブン回すというスタイルは当時としては前代未聞。特に多感な少年に色々な意味で刺激を与えたことは言うまでもありません。これは勝手な想像ですが、スージー・クアトロの台頭で刺激を受けて、後の「ランナウエイズ」や「プリテンターズ」などのガールズロックグループが生まれたのではないかと思います。やはり70年代初頭にメジャーデビューしたオリヴィア・ニュートンジョンが清楚な魅力を振りまいたのと、かなり対照的な存在でした。

収録曲は「悪魔とドライブ」「キャン・ザ・キャン」「48クラッシュ」「ワイルド・ワン」などのお馴染みのヒット曲から「キープ・ア・ノッキン」なども含めた計20曲で収録時間は約70分。こう考えると当時はアルバムよりもシングルカットがセールスの中心だったんですね。
