   シカラムータは、ヂンタ、クレズマー、バルカンなど“辺境”の音楽を、クラリネットやチューバ、ヴァイオリンなどを主体にした独自の編成で咀嚼（そしゃく）したバンドだ。この約3年ぶり3枚目のアルバムでは、それらの音楽のスタイルではなく、中心人物・大熊ワタルのクラリネットを中心に、変化自在なジャム・バンド的アンサンブルが確立され、オリジナルのスタイルにまで昇華させている。

   そこで重要なのが、本作から正式に加入したドラムスの吉田達也。彼の持ち味である変拍子やプログレ的展開、磨崖仏語ヴォイスなどを導入することで、さらに独自性が増した。さらには大熊のクラリネットも、民衆の生命力のごとき豪快な力強さを放っている。世界的にも類を見ない、極上のポップ・ミュージックだ。（小山 守）

大熊ワタルのクラリネットを中心にしたブラス・アンサンブルとチェロ、ヴァイオリン、ギター、ドラムが奏でる自由と祝祭のためのインスト・ミュージック。そんなシカラムータのサード・アルバム。闘争感を秘めつつも意外に清楚な演奏だがライヴでは大暴れの予感。

大熊ワタル率いるヤポネシアン超絶音楽集団シカラムータの3rd完成！
今回のアルバムでは、ドラムスの吉田達也（RUINS,祝正式加入！）によ
る楽曲（47）の他、ソウルフラワーユニオン（大熊自身も参加）のカバ
ーでお馴染みの『平和に生きる権利』や『不屈の民』といった海外の楽曲
も収録されていて、とてつもなく強力なアルバムに仕上がっています。

（聴いたことない人、ヤポネシアン・ハードコアヂンタの衝撃を是非っ。）
『ゴーストヂンタ・序』がブッちぎりでお気に入りです（ホント泣くぞ）！！
この時期に『平和に生きる権利』といった楽曲を敢えて（？）アルバム
に収録した意味をついつい考えてしまうけれど、一人でも多くの人の耳
に、そして心に、この曲の伝えたかったことが届きますように…。

そう、戦争している暇があるならシカラムータを聴こう！！

　初めて聴いたシカラムータ。1曲目が流れ始めると体に衝撃が走りました。なんと Charlie Haden & Liberation Music Orchestra の、音楽の力を信じて世界の人々に語りかけようとする、あの偉大な響きが聞こえてくるではないですか！　　
　90年LMO第３作「Dream Keeper」から時を経て、ついに現情勢に向け日本から発せられた 新たな声。そして3曲目の聴き覚えあるこの名旋律は、82年LMO第２作「The Ballad of the Fallen」にも収録されていた「The People United Will Never Be Defeated」だ！「渋さ知らズ」を擁する国から、また一つ新たな誇りがジャズに加わりました。シカラムータ 必聴です。
