あえて映画ではなくフイルムと呼びたい「ZATOICHI」。
サウンドトラックも、和楽器とシンセサイザーがそれぞれ効果的に使われた、
フィルムから全く切り離して　ニューエイジな和ﾓﾉありのサウンドとして　
充分独立できる素晴らしいCDです。
題名もブックレットも全部英語です。

敢えてフイルムのストーリーと絡めないで聞くと、
前半は、月夜の下にたたずんでいるように錯覚したり、
虫の声や雨のしずくが聞こえてきたり、
どこかにチャイニーズな香りも漂ってきたかと思いきや、芸者の声も聞こえます。

レコード店で視聴するなら　盛り上がってくるNO.7あたりからがお勧め、
NO.9の「O-Kagura」は　和太鼓と掛け声が響きます。
NO.11の「Festivo」待ってました！　じっとして聴いているのはもったいない。
どんどん心拍数もあがってきて　こんなに和楽器でエキサイトするものかと驚きます。
DNAなのでしょうか、魂がゆすぶられます。
NO.7〜11までハードローテーションどころか、NO.11　一日中エンドレス状態の私♪

”よさこいソーラン”のように、
学園祭やストリートなどの　華やかな出し物での曲に最適です。

映画を見ながら、既にサントラを買おうと思いました。勝新からの「座頭市」ファンの私は、この映画でのけぞるほど感動し、音楽の良さにも耳を澄まし見入った。エンディングの曲を聴いて、「これは買い」だと。私はこの手の音楽には明るくないけれど、とても気持ち良い。和物の音楽はたくさんありますが、このアルバムの意外性、斬新さ、音の美しさは際立っています。9、11の和太鼓の重厚さ、お囃子？の響き、ブラスの絡み、このグルーヴ感はたまりません。３連譜、２拍３連がどこまでも耳に残ります。音楽の自由さを教えてくれたアルバム。さすが鈴木慶一です。

…実は２度、映画を見ました。映像の良さもありましたが
何と言っても「音楽」の良さに圧倒されて。とにかく、
今までとは違い「不思議な音源」が散りばめられています。
「あれって、こんな音がするんだ」と言う様な。サントラを
改めて聴くと「忠実に」脳裏に映像が写し出される、そんな
完成度です。一度聴いてみて下さい。

「熱さ」を感じる事が出来ます。お勧めです。
