   マーキュリープライズを受賞したデビュー作から5年の年月を経た本作で、この英国の5人組は相変わらずのスタイルで堅実な仕事をこなしている。とは言え、ほぼいつも通りの路線ではあるものの、60年代風サイケデリック色がかすかに強まっている（なかでも「Silence」は怒れる世代のために作られたようなサウンド）。けれども昔からのファンも、ゴメスを同系統のバンドと一線を画したものにしているこれまで通りのブルース風のスリーパートのハーモニーを聴けばご機嫌になるはず。「Me, You and Everybody」はメロウだが憂鬱ではないリラックスしたコーラス曲だし、「Catch Me Up」は陽気なペースではずんでいる。

   本作の最高の瞬間は、あのクリーデンス・クリアウォーター・リバイバルの栄光の瞬間と部分的にかさなる。たとえば「Where Ya Going?」で聴かせる泥くさいスライドギターのリフ。これはイギリスの5人組が可能なかぎりスワンプ・サウンドに接近した音だ。今後の作品でもっと伸ばしていってほしいと期待されるこうした要素からは、ゴメスはまだまだこの程度のバンドでは終わらないことを教えてくれる。（Robert Burrow, Amazon.co.uk）

すごくポップになった。最初に聴いて、まずそう感じた。彼らの特徴である、若年寄なのにサンプリングのうまい、なんともいえない玄人好みなバンドであった。今作でその特徴（若年寄）の一つが薄く、新人UKバンド？というほど音に若さがあふれている。だが、新人バンドではとうてい出せない「うまさ」が全体に染み出ている。地味でスキじゃないと敬遠していた人にこそ、ぜひ聴いてほしい作品だ。

ロックやら
ブルースやら
サイケやらいろんなものが
ポップ風味に味付けされてできた
おでんみたいな１枚。

楽しいです。

渋~い４曲目「Me You And Everybody」と、
爽快な７曲目「Catch Me Up」が僕のおすすめメニューです。

ＥＵ盤と日本盤はコピーコントロールＣＤで、私の行ったレコード屋にはそれらしか無かったので忍んでそれを買いましたが、ＵＳ盤は普通のＣＤなのですね。選択できるということはいいことだ。（日本盤にはボーナストラックがつくが）

内容は、頭三曲くらいといわず、一曲目の出だしを聞くだけでびびっときました。今作のような肉体的な感じのほうが、声と合っていて好きだなと個人的に感じる今日この頃。
