カラー、スリーディー、こんな言葉が飛び交う中いまどきゲームボーイ？しかも旧式?なんて思っていないですか?そんなことはありません！！旧式だから味わえる昔ながらの懐かしさがあります！！

過去にゲームウォッチがあったがそれ以来の携帯ゲーム機のヒット商品。これ以降「ゲーム機+ソフト」という据え置き型ゲーム機と同様の販売方法を携帯ゲーム機市場でもとるようになった。
ソフトの多くはファミコン・PCエンジンなど当時据え置き型ゲーム機で発売されていたソフトのグレードダウンされた移植作が多かったが徐々にオリジナルの作品も多く発売されその続編が今も後継機や他機種などで発売されている。（ポケットモンスター、SAGAシリーズ等）

恐ろしく頑丈に出来ておりちょっとやそっとでは壊れないような作りになっている。後のカラーやライトなどは動作に単三電池2個必要だが初期型は4個必要。今では考えられないような重量。
現在（2008）の主要携帯ゲーム機PSPやNDSが出発点のゲームユーザーにはガラクタにしか見えないかもしれないが日本そして世界のゲーム史を語る上では外せない機種。

是非一度プレイして欲しい

正直言って懐かしいです！！久々に試しに立ち上げてみると緑っぽい画面が物語ってます（笑）今更ＧＢ旧タイプは愚か、ＧＢポケット、ＧＢライト、ＧＢカラーすら買う人は恐らくいないと思いますが、皆さん思い出してください！！
確かに、携帯ゲーム機は任天堂メーカーにおいては、ＧＢＡやニンテンドウＤＳを持っているのが殆どでしょう！！！ですが、携帯ゲーム機の進化は旧タイプの原点があってからこそ、ＧＢポケット→ＧＢライト→ＧＢカラー→ＧＢＡ（ＧＢＡＳＰも含む）＆ニンテンドウＤＳに進化し、そして〜現在に至るのです！！！

今となっては用済み的な存在になってしまいましたが、当時の評価面においては一番携帯ゲーム機の原点ともなった商品でもあり、ブームが続きましたので、そう言った点からすると文句なしです！！

もう１５年以上の携帯ゲーム故、今では携帯ゲーム機で、尚且つ、任天堂メーカーならＧＢＡ＆ニンテンドウＤＳを愛用してるのが、殆どだと思います。

それでも、特にオールドファンだった人には、この旧タイプの原点を思い出してくれることを切に願います。また、これからの子供達に携帯ゲーム機シリーズの発展の歴史について教えてあげるのも、ある意味一興ですし、良い考えなのではないかと思います。

画面のこの緑がかったところがいかにもいい。
でも目は痛くなるわ単三でんち四本もいる（すぐなくなる）わで
マニアの人むけですねぇ。
