　アニメで有名な『ルパン三世』を、名匠・坪島　孝監督が実写映画化。

　『ルパン三世』は確かにアニメのイメージの強いが、この映画は逆に開き直った印象が強い。不二子の脱獄や宝石展のシーンではアニメでもやっていたが、坪島監督は編集・逆再生等の映像マジックで描いている。

　坪島監督は、古澤憲吾監督と共に東宝クレージー映画の担い手として活躍。独自の映像演出とテンポは、谷　啓氏とのコンビ作や長尺の海外ロケものでは卓越した手腕を発揮した。またアクション映画の『蟻地獄作戦』・『国際秘密警察　火薬の樽』でも、クレージー映画調に描いている。
　そのため古澤監督から伝授された空撮ショットや人見　明氏の起用に、脚本担当の『クレージー大作戦』や自作の『クレージーの怪盗ジバコ』の匂いが作品に漂う。

　確かに、アニメと比較するとキツい部分はある。だが先の坪島監督の演出と岡本喜八監督作品等で定評がある佐藤　勝氏の音楽は、今でも見劣りはしない。

　東宝クレージー映画をよく観た上で本作を観ると、意外な発見もあるだろう。そうした視点で、本作を観てほしいものだ。

なんかバチモン扱いですが、ものすごく面白いです。

原作に忠実すぎて失敗した「めぞん一刻」「ヤワラ」などが
ありますが、本作は原作を解体して、また再構築したような
感じで、それが見事に成功しています。

田中邦衛ふんする次元が、当初、ルパンの世話焼きの役で
ちとイメージが狂うかも知れませんが、目黒ふんするルパンは

根っからの自由人で、そのライフスタイルは最近のルパン以上に
ルパンしております。

ストーリーはイマイチなのですが、その間にはさまれるコントシーンが
すばらしい。イギリスのコメディを思わせる早回しおっかけシーンは
おしゃれだし、各キャラ演じる俳優の見事なまでの体の動きのキレは

すばらしいの一言。特に銭型演じる伊東四郎は白眉で、この人の芝居を
見るだけでもこの作品を見る価値はあります。

また、黒沢作品でおなじみの佐藤勝のファンキーでモダンな音楽も
すばらしい。

ともかく、当時の喜劇人と職人技に裏打ちされた見事なまでの
コメディの世界を堪能できる一本。少なくとも近年のオタクじみた

漫画リメイクのはるか上の次元をいく日本映画の隠れた快作です。

今や伝説となった実写版ルパン3世がついにDVD化！とにかくキャストがスゴイ！でもアニメのルパンのような期待をもって見てしまうと、ちょっとがっかりさせられるので、あくまでもギャグとして楽しみましょう。俺は早速予約します。
