このアルバム、わたし的には一番「ピチカートらしい」のだ。そもそも当時のピチカートは、ポップスマニア青年が興味本位で音楽を作っている、そんなグループだった気がする。これまた生意気なポップス少年だった自分と妙にシンクロしているようで好きでした。友達にピチカートの話をして「そんなバンド知らない」といわれるたびに、なんか誇らしかった。変な奴でしたね、わたし。

もしも、購入をご検討の方がわたしと同じ様な体験をお持ちであれば、正直言うとあまりおすすめできませんな。このアルバム（というかピチカート音源）についてのＳ社の扱いはあまりにもひどすぎる。あの美しかったインナーは全体が不鮮明で醜くにじみ、無惨なありさまである。（９５年の再発盤は、ほぼオリジナル色調だったのに）おそらく、写真の版下なんか全部捨ててしまったんでしょうな。「日本のぽっぷしーんをりーどする天下のＳ社には、こんな音楽はもう必要ないのだ」てなことで。なんかの拍子に再発が決まったけど、なーんにもないから、仕方なしに誰かのを借りてきて、オフィスの隅っこのカラーコピー機で適当に作った、と。今回のインナーはそんな感じです。

悪いことはいわない。当時のピチカートに思い入れの有る方ほど、この再発盤を買うと傷つきますよ。少なくとも、わたしはとてもかなしかった。

かつてエロチカ大作戦の1曲目だった「ナイロビの女王陛下」とアルバムの最後を飾った「ゴーゴー女王陛下」がカットされています。
ナイロビの女王陛下が無いとエロチカ大作戦が少し寂しいし、
最後の一大サンプリング曲であるゴーゴー女王陛下が無いと編集感覚で出来たこのアルバムが夜をぶっとばせのフェイドアウトで終わってしまうのは違和感が残ります。

高浪さんて、こんなに繊細で良い曲を書く人だったのですね。野宮さんの時は小西さんと比べてかすんで見えていましたが、相性の問題でしょうか。「バナナの皮」なんて、軽快で最高です。「夜をぶっとばせ」はホーンアレンジ(?)がちょっとピチカート寄りになっており、このアルバムの古い映画のような空気とも相まって、後のOL版より最高に格好いいです。これだけでも十二分に素晴らしいアルバムですがレヴューによると完全版ではないそうですね。ピチカートってやっぱ無敵。
