1940年代前半の、とあるユダヤ人家庭のラジオ・ライフ。まだテレビの普及していなかった時代にラジオを楽しむ家族の様子や、番組放送の現場に関するさまざまなエピソードが積み上げられて一本の映画になっている。ウディ自身の思い出を織り込んでいる自伝的な作品。「エピソードの羅列で映画をつくる時、エピソードの面白さやリズムやスタイルを巧く持続させなくてはいけない。これには大変気を遣う。」とウディが述べているとおり、さまざまなエピソードの緩急、笑いとしんみり、いくつかあるストーリーのかみ合わせなどが周到に計算されているのがわかる。加えて、室内の調度やファッション、町の様子などオールドアメリカンな雰囲気を十分楽しめるのも良い。こういうタイプの映画は語られるエピソードと自分の実体験とのシンクロ具合でずいぶん面白さも変わるでしょうね。日本人だし、テレビ世代だし、ウディ・アレンが仕掛けている魅力の半分も受け取れていないのかも、とふと思う。

ほのぼのとして温かく、ユーモアに包まれた幸せな作品。

ラジオからの電話に空き巣が代わりに出て、クイズの正解を答えてしまうシーン、など最高に楽しげなエピソードあり、また若い女性の生きる上での悩みなどあり、それらが全て、とてもハッピーな結末を迎える。

相変わらず、ユーモラスなウディ・アレンのアメリカの良い時代を日本で言えば「8時だよ！全員集合」を家族全員で見るときのワクワク感とともに描いた作品。

ウディ・アレンの中でも老若男女楽しめる作品だと思います。

ラジオ全盛期の家庭を描いたコミカルなドラマ。まだ小さいセス・グリーンが達者でかわいい。全編にわたって流れるウッディ・アレン監督のナレーションの声が現在のセス・グリーンにそっくりで、監督が彼に自分を見て起用したのがうなづける。おなじみミア・ファローの他、実に贅沢な俳優陣。当時流行のラジオ番組や音楽も楽しめる。有名なオーソン・ウェルズのいたずらも登場！
