元々洋楽を殆ど聞かない人間なのですが、
本ＣＤは自分にとって洋楽の入門書となったように思います。
確たる知識がなくても、当時を生きた人間でなくても、
「シェリーに口づけ」や「カントリー・ロード」、
「スタンド・バイ・ミー」等の超がつくほどの有名曲は、
何時か何処かで聴いたことがあると思います。

本ＣＤはその出典を知ることができるのと同時に、今まで
「歌詞が解らない」という理由で敬遠していた自分の目を開くきっかけを作ってくれました。
対訳の詩を読みながら、ただ曲と歌声の織り成す
ハーモニーに身を任せる快楽も確かに存在するということを。
新鮮で、でもどこか懐かしい、現在の邦楽では中々得られない気分を
味わえました。

当時を知らない人間として、あえて一点減点しての評価です。
それにしても、例えよりぬきでの収録という事を差し引いても
昔の方が名曲・良曲が多かったと感じてしまうのは私だけでしょうか。
自分も歳を取ったということか・・・。

新人類と呼ばれたボクらが思春期から青春期にかけて、
ラジオにかじりついて聴いてた「洋楽」の最強コンピ盤です。
まだまだサウンドやメロディに驚きと可能性が満ちあふれていた
時代でした。
この企画盤は８０'sをひととおり追体験した若い世代の
本物のＰＯＰＳファンにこそゼヒ聴いてもらいたいアルバムです。

あなたは「懐かしさ」を飛び越えて「新しさ」を発見するでしょう。

一時、８０ｓにハマリ、当時、エアチェック（懐かしい響きです。）して録音した曲やレコードで聴いていた曲がＣＤ化され、聴きまくっていました。８０ｓは私にとって、ある意味、軽さが良く聞き込むというよりはドライブやイージーリスニングに向いています。この７０ｓは６０年代からの音楽を受けロックとしてはかなり充実していた時期です。聞き込むと言う意味ではすごい時代です。私にとってはリアルタイムではないのですがロックの真髄と言えます。
　しかし、中学生の頃、オールディーズを聴いて５０年代のロックを振り返ったように、今では、７０年代、８０年代を振り返っていると思うと時の流れをつくづくと感じます。
