「ヒカリ」で完全復活を果たしたhitomiの2004年第2弾シングルは、フジテレビ系ドラマ『離婚弁護士』の主題歌&東芝携帯電話のCMソング。前作同様、根岸孝旨をプロデューサーに迎えたロック・サウンド、コンサバ仕様。ロック・モードの姐さんも相変わらずかっこいい。

前作「ヒカリ」のPVで披露したギター片手の凛々しい佇まいも記憶に新しいhitomi。そんな彼女のニュー・シングルは前作同様、バンド・サウンドを前面に押し出したロック色の強い作風に。両A面1曲目「心の旅人は」、彼女らしいポジティヴな想いをゆったりと伸びやかに歌い上げたミディアム・チューン。2曲目「SPEED☆STAR」はダイナミックで爽快感あふれるロック・チューン。キャリアを重ねるごとに、シンプルでナチュラルな方向にシフト・チェンジしてきた彼女。5月12日に予定されているニュー・アルバムも今から楽しみ。 (望月哲) --- 2004年05月号

　1は、スロー・テンポのナンバー。メロディの良い曲で、中音域を中心としており、必要以上にカン高い声を出さなくてよいのが、吉と出ている（全く無いわけではないが）。
　2は、アップ・テンポのロック・チューン。この曲も中音域を中心としており、聞き苦しくないのに加え、彼女のキャラクターを上手く引き出している。
　ただ、どちらの曲にもストリングスを入れているのはいかがなものか。何でも入れればよいというものではない。
　とはいえ、進歩が見られるという点で、十分に評価できる内容になっている。
