   CDだというのに、300人キャパぐらいの小バコで見据えられているような視線の強さ――80年前後生まれの仙台出身の3ピース、椿屋四重奏。2003年のミニアルバム『椿屋四重奏』リリースの頃には、はやくもエレカシやsyrup16gら、のっぴきならない対バンも多数経験した強者だ。しかし期待度No.1バンドの中でも、その密着度は突出している。

   ヴォーカル、ギターで全作詞作曲を担当する中田裕二は、いわば男芸者。男の情けなさを日本的で湿気十分なメロディと、語尾までしっかりねっとり聴き手を麻痺させるほどの力量でもって歌に浸透させる。その背後には情念すら見えるほどだ。バンドサウンドがこれだけソリッドで緩急自在でなければありえないバランス。だが、敢えてそのスリルにこのバンドは身を投じるのだろう。（石角友香）

　「小春日和」を聴き、感動して買ったが、他の曲もいい！特に、「ぬけがら」は1分48秒の短さながら、悲しさ、せつなさ、色っぽさがふんだんに詰まっていて、聞き逃せない！！あとは、M2、M5、M10が好き。　彼らの良さは、1演奏の技術が高い2ボーカル中田さんの歌のうまさ3歌詞が昔の文豪の小説のようでストーリー性が高く、美しいこと。彼らは誰にも似ていない、きらりと光るものがある。これからの成長を大期待ということで星は4つ。
　ラジオライブを聴いたら、CD以上の良さ！１つ1つの曲を大切に演奏していて好感が持てた。アルバム「椿屋四重奏」のジャケのように恐い人ではなく、気さくで、おもしろい人たちでした。
　このアルバムは買って損なし！何度も聴いていくうちに味がでてくる気がする。とにかく、ぜひ聴いてみてください。かっこいいです。ホレます。聴かなきゃ損ですぜ。

CDショップで試聴して、即買い。
あまり日本のロックは買わないのですが、ボーカルの声、曲の流れ、怪しい雰囲気等、褒めるところが多そうなので購入して見ました。
じっくり聴いてみたところ、ハマりました。
結構ジャズっぽいコードとか使っていてシブさがあります。
カッコいい感じだなあと思いました。

普通じゃないっぽいところが一番俺の心を動かした要因でした。

とても日本らしいロックだと思う。
古文的な表現も見られるし。
独特なうねりというか曲の微妙な加減速と艶やかな声とがあいまって不思議な感覚に陥る。

このダークさは一聴の価値ありですよ
