　アニタ・ベイカーの新作が注目されているが，このアリソン・ウィリアムスの久々の新作もＲ＆Ｂファンにとっては嬉しい限りだ。万人受けする派手さはないが，ソウル・マナーをわきまえた味わい深いヴォーカルは本作でも健在だ。
　レイトナイト向けのメロウでゴージャスな「Soft And Warm」，「A Sexy Way」の冒頭2曲が素晴らしい。いずれもクワイエット・ストームとか，アーバン・コンテンポラリーという表現がぴったりで，ブラコンに代表される’80年代ソウルやAORが好きな人にはたまらない佳曲と言えるだろう。メロディアスで落ち着いた雰囲気のホーンセクションが印象的なスロー「Holding Back The Years」，ジャジーでどことなく愁いを帯びたピアノの調べをバックに静かに歌われる「Is It Good To You」もいい。ちなみに「Holding Back The Years」には，ステップ・バージョンの別テイクも収録されており，こちらも上々の仕上がり。
　メロウ・チューンだけでなく，「Say Goodbye」や「No More」，「Strangers」のようにビターでブルージーなタッチのナンバーも多く，実に味わい深い。
　やたらヒップホップ寄りのサウンドが多い最近のソウル／Ｒ＆Ｂ界にあって，素直に「ソウルフル」と思える貴重な作品だ。
