悲哀･憎悪･苦悩･憤怒といった、マイナスベクトルの表現の生々しさは他の追随を許さない。特にVO.のこれ以上無いとばかり歪みきった低音域のデス声、高音域の切れた絶叫に加え、ここぞと言うときに悲しみを加速させる嗚咽が凄まじい。HELLCHILD時代から更に強化されたそのヴォーカルテクニックにはただただ驚嘆させられる。演奏も徹底的にヘヴィで生易しさが介入する隙が無い。ここまで苦悩や憎悪やを正確に表現するものを探すのは難しいと思う。

FROM HELLの表現したマイナスベクトルの感情は、下手な言葉で表現された同様の感情よりよっぽど生々しく、説得力がある。一度体験してしまったら、他の言葉は空虚に感じられるだろう。故に今作のタイトルは"Empty Words"なのだろう。

世界を見渡しても、TSUKASAほどの負の念を吐き出しているボーカルは稀だと思う。
ビリー・アンダーソンも認めた(NEUROSIS、BRUTAL TRUTH、SLEEP、EYE HATE GOD等をプロデュース)その絶叫は、HELLCHILD時代から血の気が引く様な壮絶さを誇っていたが、FROM HELLの1stとなる今作では最早、最果てまで堕ちた人間の嗚咽を発している。

エクスペリメンタルな要素が増したFROM HELLは、
ISIS meets MOTORHEADとも称されるバンドだが、その深みと痛みはNEUROSISにも迫ると思う。

聴いててついノってしまい、狂いそうになるくらい良い曲がつまってると思いました。
嫌なことがあったときなどに聴くと大変すっきりします。
