まず、ニックカーター役の男優！アランドロン張りのハンサムです。
さらに、ニューヨーカーなのに、どう聞いても英語で話しておりません。
当たり前です。東欧映画だもん!
でもね、日本人からしてみれば､くくりは､白人。それでニューヨークの設定を持ち込まれても､違和感が無いから､逆に困る!

しかし、しかし、とても面白い。
ストーリーも悪くないし､面白シーンも満載。
また、普通なら実現不可能なシーンは勿論パペット！さすが、東欧！
そこかしこにいろいろな技が聞いてます。
登場人物は全員ユーモラス
主人公ニックカーターは外見はハンサムですが、中身は奇天烈。
プラハに仕事に行くからと時代錯誤名民族衣装を着込み「変装」と言い切ります。
その他､ソーセージを離さないプラハの刑事
色仕掛けのまじめな召使

ありえないストーリー

舞台は、多分19世紀末。世界的に有名な名探偵ニック・カーターは、ハンサムで博覧強記で腕っ節が強く、最新の科学捜査に長けているスーパーヒーロー。いや、であるはずだ。

というのも、この映画ではパルプフィクション調のヒーローを、ストレートに描こうとはしていないからだ。むしろ、クルーゾー警部風味。意図的に描かれるバカ描写やスラップスティックは古臭さに粋が光る。計算されたレトロな味わいは心地よく、なんとも罪のない前世紀の冒険活劇は、ただ眺めているだけでも楽しいのだ。

タイトルになっている「アデラ」は、モーツァルトの子守唄を聞くと人間を襲う人食い植物。そのユーモラスかつグロテスクな魅力は、ヤン・シュバンクマイエルのモデルアニメーションによって、遺憾なく発揮されている。

そういう意味では、SFホラー好き、特に怪獣大好き人間は、見ておいて損はないぞ。あと、唐沢なをきのファンは、「蒸気王」を映像化したらこんな感じであろうという逸品なので、是非、観るべし。
