   1980年代から最前線で活躍を続けるスラッシュ・メタルのオリジネイターが結成20年を記念して、ファン投票によりベスト・ソングをセレクト。2004年のラインアップで初期5枚のアルバムからの名曲をセルフ・カバーしたスタジオ・ライヴ作品。ジョン・ブッシュがヴォーカルをとっている以外にはあまりアレンジに手を加えていないが、オリジナルのスピード感にズシッとした重量感を加えたサウンドがかなり異なった印象を与える。「ベリー・オブ・ザ・ビースト」イントロにセルティック・フロストのカバー「ディスローンド・エンペラー」の一節を加えたり、「デスライダー」のテンポを落とすなど、オールド・ファンだったらニヤリとする変更点もあり。もちろん全14曲（＋日本盤ボーナス1曲）はすべてメタル史上に残る名曲。若いヘッドバンガーもベスト盤として聴くことが可能だ。死ぬまで首を振り続けろ！（山崎智之）

ANTHRAXが、ファンからの投票を元に曲を選んだという、まさにファンのためのアルバム。基本的にはファーストからサードアルバムの曲が多い。さて、まず耳にして思う事が、音がすごくいい。実は、機材をライブと全く同じ配置にして録音されたらしい。おかげで、それぞれの楽器の音が埋もれる事なく、クリアに聞こえてくるのだ。
演奏面も、文句のつけようがない。ジョンのどっしりした歌声に、チャーリーの超絶ドラミング、スコット・ロブのギター、フランクのベースが絡み合い、絶妙なメタルサウンドを醸し出している。
初期のANTHRAXファンの方には、ジョンの評価が分かれてしまう所ではあると思うが、敬遠してこれを聴かないのはとても勿体ないと思う。これを聴かずして棺桶には入れない！

デビュー20周年記念で、過去の曲を新メンバーで再録音です。
1st『Firstful Of Metal』~
『Persistence Of Time』までのアルバムから
ファン投票によって選ばれた曲をスタジオ・ライヴ録音。
往年の名曲が、ジョン・ブッシュのＶｏで
はたしてどうなるのか、、？
期待大です

昔の曲も良いけどVoはジョンブッシュの方が良いなぁ、という僕には打って付けの企画です。他のレビューにもあるように、ギター・サウンドに重さが増してより格好良くなっています。Keep it in the familyなんか、痺れます。
ジョン・ブッシュになってからのAnthraxのアルバムには元PANTERAのD.ダレルがよく参加していますが、昨年のあの惨事・・・この企画にも参加してくれたら良かったのに、残念でなりません。
