5.0 out of 5 stars 90年代の傑作ＯＶＡがようやくＤＶＤ化, 2004/6/1
94年~95年にオリジナルビデオアニメとして発売された『新ハニー』が待望のDVD化。

DVD化のために新たに起こしたニューマスターではなく、10年前のLD用マスターを使用しているので、期待したほどの高画質ではなかったのが残念。特に発色がいまひとつの感がある。

映像特典はLD８枚の巻末にそれぞれ入っていたものを全部集めただけのもので、新規の蔵出し映像などは一切なし。

しかしだからといって、決して不満な商品というわけではない。アニメーションのクオリティ自体はとても高い作品だけに、いま見ても遜色の無い面白さだし、シリーズ後半になるに連れて制作者側が乗っていた点なども伝わってくる。それだけにシリーズが半端な形で打ち切られてしまったのが残念なほどだ。

特典として付いているドラマCDは、当時脚本がまではアップしていた第9話を、オリジナルキャストを集めてラジオドラマ的に演じたもの。10年というブランクを感じさせない声優陣のはじけっぷりが楽しい。

収録時間は約30分ぐらいでトラック信号がない（つまり30分ワントラックなのだ）ため、やや操作性が悪いのが難だが、ドラマの最後に役を離れて素になった出演者が録音スタジオ内でそれぞれコメントをする部分が一番面白い。周囲にいる共演者から突っ込みの声がガヤガヤ入る中で,、10年ぶりに自分のキャラクターと再会した喜びを語る主演メンバーにちょっとジーンとくる。

前から存在は知っていたけれど、手に入れずに長い間忘れていたのですが…。DVD化されたと聞いて早速拝見しました。‥この作品は未完なんですね、知りませんでした。しかし内容は歴代ハニーの中で最高のものだと思います。作画も丁寧だし、声優陣も文句なしです。特にハニー役の根谷さんは、最初特徴がないかなと思ったけれど後になると隣りにいるお姉さんみたいな自然な声がスゴくよかった。お目当てのハニーフラッシュもスゴく色っぽくて素晴らしいデキ。逆さになって、指先からコスチュームが張りついていく様は目が釘付け(笑)。演出も同様、ダブルハーケン出した時、思わず笑ってしまった。シナリオは少し解りづらいが気にならないレベル。未完なのが本当に残念‥。エロ過ぎたのかな‥(ハニーフラッシュとか今でもヤバイかもしれない‥笑)5話からのOPもサイコー。ぜんぜん古さを感じない。‥ハニーファンで、まだ観てない人は是非とも観ましょう。必見の完成度ですよ〜っ。

原画陣に「江口寿史」氏が参加とのコメントを見ましたが、正しくはスプリガンやパーフェクトブルーなどアニメを手掛けたアニメーター「江口寿志」氏で、漫画家江口寿史氏とは全く別人です。一文字違いなので混同されることが多いようです。
