   このアルバムで取り上げられているのは、バッハとバルトークの、ともに無伴奏ヴァイオリンのための作品。無伴奏の作品を弾くとき、ソリストには2つの選択肢がある。音で空間を埋め尽くしその場を完全に支配するか、もしくはその逆に余白の美を生かすか。川畠成道の場合は明らかに後者だ。

   ともすれば長々と響かせてしまいたくなる重音は、心持ち短く切り上げて余韻を残す。大きく歌い上げたくなるようなフレーズもコンパクトにまとめる。一直線にクライマックスへ上りつめたくなるところも、血気にはやらず冷静に進める。それでいて不足を感じさせるようなところは一つもない。「抑制の美」。あるいは「清貧の思想」。「清貧」といっても川畠の音色や音楽性が貧しいという意味ではさらさらない。たしかに豪華さやきらびやかさとは無縁かもしれないが、そのかわりに内面の豊かさがある。バッハがこれだけ身近に感じられるのも、バルトークにあたたかみと美しさを感じられるのもそのためだ。（松本泰樹）

これはヴァイオリンだけでピアノの伴奏はありません。素晴らしい音色と暖かく心のこもった演奏は力強く優しく、しかも崇高な想いを抱かせてくれます。このＣＤの録音に寄せて、川畠さんは私が心から愛してやまない作品を心の底から表現してみたつもりですとコメントされてます。　確かに繰り返し観賞してみると、其の言葉の意味が心の奥まで伝わる思いが致します。クラシックを好まれるかたは勿論ですが、そうでない方も優しく暖かい気持ちになれるばかりか、勇気を持って未来を歩みだせるようにも思えるＣＤです。このＣＤをお求めになられる方は、何度も、何度も観賞されて楽しまれる事をお勧めいたします

　バッハの無伴奏ヴァイオリン・ソナタ&パルティータは弾く者の心を映し出すある種恐ろしい曲である。小手先の技術だけではとても太刀打ちできない難曲中の難曲。テクニックはもとより精神性の高さを求められる。

　ヴァイオリニストとしてある程度自信がつくと録音してみたくなるらしい。それも全６曲を。しかし、満足の行く結果を残せる人はまれである。力んでしまったり、上っ面だけをなぞってしまったり。

　川畠成道は敢えて全曲ではなくパルティータの２番だけに絞った。あの壮大な「シャコンヌ」に全力でぶつかる。

　震えるような感動。音の一つ一つが有機的につながり、シャコンヌという天空の城を築き上げる。少しも冗長になるところがなく、きわめて高い緊張感を維持している。だが、息の詰まるようなことはなく卓越したテクニックに裏づけされた安心感がある。

　この「シャコンヌ」だけを聴くだけでも十分買う値打ちはある。それにしてもこれだけのバッハを弾けるならぜひ、全曲を録れて欲しい。

彼のコンサートにて買い求めた一枚。
握手したぬくもりが忘れられない演奏家である。
誠実で人なっこい川畠氏。
コンサートでは自ずからマイクを握り
曲の合間に弁を振るってくれた。
おかげで客と演奏家が一体となった楽しい一時を過ごせた。
さてシャコンヌであるが、
そんな彼の誠実な人柄が伝わるかのような演奏である。
暖かい太陽のような。
たとえて言うと、けして真夏の太陽ではなく、
冬の日の縁側で窓越しに浴びる心地よい日向ぼっこのような…。
落ち込んだときにそっと隣に佇んでくれるかのような感じかな。
押し付けがましくない演奏です。
