シンディの抜群の歌唱力と多彩な表現力が見事に集約された、最高の作品です！
「Time After Time」や「True Colors」は今でも色あせることのない名曲です。「Girls Just Wanna Have Fun」は2バージョンあり、彼女の表現の多様性に驚かされます。他の曲も全てが心に響くと思います。初めて聴いた時は、1曲目の「I'm Gonna Be Strong」からいきなり鳥肌が立ち、涙があふれそうになりました。
私事ですが、このCDが発売されたのは私の大学受験時代で、受験勉強しながら一年間ずーっとひたすらこのCDを聴いていました。多分1000回以上聴いたと思います。それでも飽きるどころかいつも励まされました。
特に日本版の本作品には、あの無邪気な笑顔の裏にある苦悩や勇気を教えてくれる解説も収められており、彼女をより良く知る一助となると思います。
あまりに何度も聴いたり解説や歌詞を読んだりしてぼろぼろになったため、保存用にもう一枚買ったりもしました。友人へのプレゼントにしたこともあります。それくらい私にとってかけがえのない作品なので、一人でも多くの方にお勧めしたいです。

まず、シンディはデビューの頃からの大ファンです(^-^)中学・高校の頃すごく好きでいつも聞いていました♪夜中にやっている某番組を目をこすりつつ観ていたのを、今でも覚えています。。。。あのカラフルな服装・・・プロモーションビデオもめちゃ面白かった。。。。３０歳代の方なら、あの金切り声は忘れられないはず？！けれど、なぜか、懐かしいというよりも、心地よい声に聞こえるのは、年を重ねた証拠なのかもしれません。。。。ベスト版なので、初期の頃の声と、大人っぽくなっていくシンディの高音の声を、是非聞き比べていただきたいです♪ポップな曲が多いので、楽しい気分でノリノリ★になること間違いなしの太鼓判！です(^-^)

80年代を代表する女性シンガー、シンディ・ローパーのベスト・アルバム。
本当に素晴らしく、そして彼女らしい曲ばかりでとても心に響くものがあります。

#2や#13、#15のような可愛らしいアップ・テンポな曲も、
#4や#6、#8のような美しいバラードまでシンディ色にしてしまう彼女の歌唱力はさすがです。

さまざまな苦難を乗り越えてきたシンディの書く曲と詞に、勇気をもらうはずです。
スピーカーの向こうから『元気を出して』と歌いかけてくれる彼女、
この1枚にはそんなシンディの魅力がたくさん詰め込まれています。
