このＤＶＤは、2000年2月25、26日に"The Lifehouse Chronicles"の発売を記念して行われたロンドン・サドラーズ・ウェル・シアターでのコンサートを収録したＤＶＤです。"Lifehouse"とは、The WhoのリーダーのPete Townshendが"Tommy"の次の作品として構想した映画と劇場公演とレコードを組み合わせた幻のプロジェクトで、このコンサートは彼の30年越しのプロジェクトが遂に実現した記念すべきコンサートです。参加メンバーは、Pete Townshend(g,vo),John "Rabbit" Bundrick(key,vo),Peter Hope-Evans(Mouth organ,Jew's harp),Jody Linscott(per),Chuck Merchan(b),Phil Palmer(g),Billy Nicholls,Chyna,Cleveland Watkiss(vo)＋The London Chamer OrchestraでDrumsはいません。この作品は海外では随分前から発売されていたのですが、ＤＶＤはアメリカ版(Region-1)，ヨーロッパ版(PAL方式)ともに国内では視聴出来なかったので、私は仕方なくＶＨＳを購入して視聴していました。今回やっと国内で発売されると知り、歓喜しているところです。彼のファンの方々は、30年越しの彼のプロジェクトが遂に実現した歴史的瞬間を共に祝ってあげて下さい。感動すること間違いなしです。以上

4.0 out of 5 stars The Whoファン、ピートファンには儲けもののDVD, 2005/2/25
以前は素晴らしいソロパフォーマンスを見せていたPete Townshendだけど、その後、耳がすごく悪くなったはず。ドキドキしながらこのDVDを買いました。
この2000年のMusic form Lifehouseは悪くなかったです。90年代のThe WhoのJoin TogetherツアーやPSYCHODERELICTのライブよりはかなり良い。難聴で音がとれず、一時はまともに唄えなかった印象があったけど、このライブではしっかり唄っています。

バックメンバーはDEEP END（1985年）の時とかなり重なっています。デビッド・ギルモアとサイモン・フィリップはいないけど、ハーモニカのピーター・ホープ・エバンスやバックボーカルのチャイナなど業師が揃っている感じ。
DEEP ENDほどの高揚感、演奏レベルの高さ、パワーはないけれど悪くはない。Who's Nextのナンバーの多くを、ピートのソロで、それもまあまあのレベルで見聴きできるのだからThe Whoファン、ピートファンには儲けもののDVDだったと思います。

悪くは無い
がしかしながら毎度の如く、構成上の欠如が露呈している残念な商品である。
コーラス三人組も歌唱力に難があるし、ピートの長い解説がコンサートの良い流れを自ら断ち切っている(これは昔からよくやる有名な事であるが…)
例のハーモニカの兄ちゃんが調子に乗り過ぎてピートに怒られる?シーンもある
もったいない限りである
