どの楽曲も聴きやすく、すんなりとゲームの世界に入り込むことができる。ただ「鋼らしさ」を感じさせる要素が今ひとつ少ないので、鋼の錬金術師という作品のファンには、ちょっと物足りないかも。

しかし、エンディングテーマの「Emotionally」は大変素晴らしい出来で、普通の曲として聴いても充分に楽しめる。エンディングに感動した人なら、この１曲のためだけでも買う価値はあり。
「消せない罪」のアレンジバージョンと、挿入歌「心の花」は歌詞が１番までしかないのが残念。

戦闘パートではテンポのいいリズムでプレーヤーを盛り上げ、シリアスな場面ではオルゴールやピアノの音色で場の雰囲気を演出するなど、シーン１つ１つに採用された音は、他のスクウェア・エニックス製ゲームに共通するサウンドで構成されていて馴染みやすい。ただ、ゲームを象徴する様な曲、例えば「これ、ハガレンのゲームに使われてた曲だ」と、曲を聴いただけでイメージさせるようなトラックが不在。ＴＶアニメのＥＤテーマをＲｅｍｉｘして採用するなどアニメとリンクさせている部分もあるのかもしれないが、ゲームオリジナルのストーリーやアニメーションをより引き立たせる事が出来たのでは？と考えてしまう。

なんというか、敢えてCDという形にしなくとも良いのでは？と正直思って仕舞いました…。ゲーム内で聴く分には良いのですが、音楽単品で聴くとなると何かが足りない。パッケージデザインもゲームのジャケットをそのまま…といった具合で、物足りなさが…。ちなみにレーベルゲートCDだそうです。
