   本作の主人公は、前作で死を遂げた高山の死体解剖をした友人の解剖医安藤。死体に残された秘密のメッセージを、高山の恋人だった舞と共に追う。この作品は、貞子の呪いの謎解きをしなければならない分だけ説明的で、ホラーの要素が減ってしまったが、息子を失った解剖医の苦悩を演じる佐藤浩市のヒューマンな演技と、ラストで本作のテーマが家族であることを強く印象づけている。（堤 昌司）

単なるホラーではなくバイオな感じつまりありえなくも無い信憑性をかもし出している。（あくまでエンターテイメントとして）
個人的に「リング」よりもこっちの方が好きだし、この結末があるからこそリングは前ふりとして面白い
ヒューマンドラマ、人が生きにくい人間社会、人間が生きる意味とは？といった事まで、考えさせられる作品だと思う。

ホラーというより、科学的なストーリーだと思います。
最初見たときは、内容の意味が全く解りませんでした。
呪いより、遺伝子に深く関係している映画です。
「リング」の続編なので、続きが見たい方は是非買ってみて下さい！

リングと連動している作品ですが知名度が低いようです。リングの女主人公の元夫・高山のサイドストーリーという位置づけです。変死した高山が運び込まれ、医師であり友人でもある安藤が彼を解剖をすることになる。不可解な事実、死体のはずの友人。死去した息子の再生を願う安藤。

リングを見終えた後、偶然視聴。リング関連の棚にはなかったので別モノだと思っていました。ホラーというよりSF色が濃い作品でした。解剖された真田が目を開けてみたりそこそこ怖いシーンがありました。が、それよりも息子を失った安藤の悲しみが痛々しかったのです。それだけに「蘇り」にかける安藤の気迫が恐ろしかったです。
