D70とレンズキットの広角~中望遠ズームの購入を機会に、広角~望遠ズームを買いたい最後にこの単焦点50mmレンズを購入しました。ズームは便利な反面ｆ値が暗いという欠点があります。
やはり、明るいレンズを1本所有しておくと大変便利です。絞り込めばものすごくシャープですし、開放すれば暗いｆ値の中望遠レンズよりははるかに綺麗なボケ味を楽しめます。
また、50mmレンズは銀塩カメラ時代に標準レンズとしてカメラと一緒に買われることが多かったせいか、ニコン純正のレンズでこれだけの価格的にもかなり安い根付になっています。
特に1眼デジタルカメラがはじめての方や、私のようなアマチュアがカメラの練習をするには、フイルム代がかさまないデジタルの特性をいかし、50mmレンズ1本で色々な効果を出せるように修行をするには売ってつけです。

D80のファーストレンズとして購入しました。

明るさもＦ１．８で充分、
単焦点レンズですから背景をぼかした写真も綺麗、
子供の写真も自分の腕前以上に？綺麗に撮れます。

風景写真も良い雰囲気が出ますし、
小型なので携帯性も抜群、
この値段ですから余計に一本持っても良いと思います。

今の所私はこれ一つで修行中です。

Ｄ９０に５０ｍｍはちと長すぎるかなということで３５ｍｍｆ２　と悩みましたがこれを先月かいました。
決め手は、
１５０ｇちょいとめっちゃ軽量であることですが、良い買い物をしたと思ってます。

ｆ１．８短焦点のため、開放では深度の非常に浅いボケ写真が取れる。
絞れば、まったくクリアーで解像度の高い写真が取れる。

と満足です。

５０ｍｍでの使用では室内ではさすが苦しいところもありますが、屋外ではまったく問題なく使えてます。
実は、Ai　５０ｍｍｆ１．２のレンズを保有していますが、これはピント・露出とも手動オンリーで、はまればよい写真が取れますが、歩留まりはこの１．８が桁違いによく、はまった写真での優劣もあまり感じません、というか、昔のレンズと比べるとコーテｲングの技術なのか？この１．８のほうがはるかにきれいで高解像度の写真が取れるような気がします。
