   1994年にアーケード向けにリリースされた縦スクロールシューティングのガンバートと、同じく1998年にリリースされたガンバード2をカップリングしてPlayStstion2向けに移植したタイトル。

   ゲームの時代設定は19世紀のヨーロッパ。プレイヤーは、複数用意されているキャラクターの中からを1人を選択してせまりくる敵を撃墜し、各ステージに登場するボスを倒していく。

   ガンバードに登場するプレイヤーキャラクターは、空飛ぶほうきに乗った魔法使いの少女マリオン、背負い式推進機ロケットパックを背負った冒険家アッシュ、筋斗雲のような雲に乗った女魔道士ヤンニャンなど、個性豊かな5人。

   ステージの途中や各ステージ間では、これらのキャラクターやライバルによるカットインイベントが発生。キャラクターごとに魅力あるストーリーとエンディングが用意されているので、次のイベントが気になってクリアできるまでコンティニューし続けることになるだろう。（Rei from Chiba）

ｶﾞﾝﾊﾞｰﾄﾞ２のみの目的で購入しましたが難易度を1番低くしても途中のステージから弾幕の嵐になりとてもじゃないけど普通にはｸﾘｱできないレベルになります。弾幕が好きではなく普通にｼｭｰﾃｨﾝｸﾞを楽しみたい方にはｵｽｽﾒできません。もしﾄﾞﾘｰﾑｷｬｽﾄを持っているのであれば難易度もちゃんと設定でき、ボス前にﾛｰﾄﾞも無いﾄﾞﾘｰﾑｷｬｽﾄ版「ｶﾞﾝﾊﾞｰﾄﾞ２」をｵｽｽﾒします。

これはまたひどい手抜きでした。

１のオープニングはPS1版のガンバードの、
オリジナルから録画して減色したと思われるムービーが流れ
一瞬で手抜きとわかります。オリジナル同様に作ってほしかった。
バグもあるようで、ボムやスコアの表示がないことも・・
PS1版であった強引に横画面で縦のフィールドを再現しようと
していたヘンテコスクロールがなくなったのは良かった・・
というより不評だったので外したのでしょうか。

２の方は、ボス前にDiscからのロードが入ります・・・
開いた口が塞がりませんでした。
非常にやる気をなくします。
PS2のメモリが少ないのはわかるんですけど
ボス前のちょっとした空き時間に画面スクロールさせながら
こっそりロードできるはずなんですが・・

一応、縦画面モードも入っていますので、とりあえず★２つ
です。

ゲーセンでやって面白かったので買ってみました。
ガンバード２でマリオンのスイーツカーニバル（敵弾をお菓子に変えるボム）の色がおかしかったので星３つです。
ドリームキャスト版と比べても一目瞭然です。ローディングよりもこっちの方が私は気になりました。
