　日本海沿いを走るこの列車は海だけでなく山も楽しめます。片方は海、片方は山と退屈しません。
　また、数え切れないほどの名所を特急のように猛スピードで走り去ることなく、のんびり走行するので自宅でゆっくりと日本海・山形の山々の景色を楽しめると思います。

　列車で指定席の窓側を取っても海側か山側かのどちらかになってしまいますが、このＤＶＤだと前方の眺めなので迫ってくる日本海と山々を同時に楽しめます。特に｢村上｣から先の景色はオススメです。ぼんやりとこのＤＶＤを見ていると嫌なことも忘れていると思います。

羽越本線は海の景色が綺麗な路線のひとつだと思います。
四季によっても様々な景色を見せてくれますが、本作品は10月の撮影で、村上から先は穏やかな日本海と山の断崖の間を走り抜ける景色が堪能できます。
また、交直セクションの通過もあり、すれ違う普通列車も変化も楽しめます。
同路線を走る、特急いなほの485系でなく、きらきらうえつでの全面展望の為、広い展望が魅力です。
ただ、天候が曇りの為、晴れていればもっと綺麗な車窓が、と思いますので、星は4にしました。
