　7.0からのバージョンアップで主な使用目的は作曲（オーケストラ作品中心）。アレンジ機能はあまり使わない、という立場から、使ってみた感想を述べたい。
　全体として、主な機能は7.0からほとんど変わっていない。同価格帯の他社製品に比べ、演奏可能なパート数が16と多く、編集・アレンジ等の機能も比較的充実している。ただ、16パートではフルオーケストラのパート数としてはまだ窮屈。編集可能なパート数を一気に256まで増やすより、むしろ、32程度で良いから全てのパートで音が鳴るようにしてくれた方が、おそらくは実用的だったろうと思う。また、印刷関係の機能は今一つなので、楽譜の作成が主な目的の場合はそれ専用のソフトを使うことをお勧めする。
　バグも多い。7.0のファイルを読み込んで8.0のファイルに変換した場合、あるいは範囲指定・ドラッグで音の高さを変えた場合に一部の音符がなぜか１オクターブずれた高さに表示されたり（演奏で鳴る音は正常な高さ）、演奏中に突然、何の前触れもなく強制終了（それまでの入力分は全て消えてしまう）してしまうといった症状が出る。
　基本的に、音楽ソフトとしてはバランスも良く機能も豊富で、初めてこの種のソフトを買う人には十分にお勧めできる。ただ、上記の通り欠点も多いので、特に7.0を持っている人は、無理にバージョンアップせずに9.0でのさらなる改良を待った方が良いようにも思う。

SSWのいいところは国産ソフトなので、ローランド、ヤマハ、ＫＯＲＧなどの国産音源モジュールにほぼ完全に対応できている点でしょう（海外のソフトだと国産音源モジュール未対応が珍しくない）。今回の目玉はVSTに対応してる事と複数のファイルを同時に開く事ができる点、インターフェイスも変わって観やすくなりました。このソフトでほとんどの事ができます。機能てんこ盛りですが、快適に動作させるにはＰＣの性能とメモリには注意が必要かも。星１つマイナス分は、前バージョンに比べてアレンジ機能、オーディオ機能など基本的な部分ではほとんど変化がない点。でも、初めて買われる方にはオススメです。

2009年１月現在、バージョンアップなし。
ＳＳＷ３〜５．０ＶＳ〜８．０ＶＳと使い続けて来たので、ＭＩＤＩ入力に関しては、慣れもあり、元々のスコア入力が使いやすかったので手放せない。
グルーヴクウォンタイズも面倒くさがりには便利。
鼻歌入力、コード生成などの初心者向け機能は使う必要がないのでいらない機能。メロディー生成機能に至っては、既に作曲ではないのではないかと・・・。
強制終了のバグはアップデートしても修正されず、頻繁に上書き保存しておく必要があるのが致命的。
ミックスダウンが、ＰＣのサウンドカードのＯＵＴとＩＮを外部で繋ぐという、ありえないほどのアナログ思考。ＵＳＢオーディオインターフェイス経由ではミックスダウン出来ない。
ＭＩＤＩをＳＳＷで作成、オーディオ＆ミックスは他のソフトを使った方が良い。
作品をまとめて1枚のＣＤにするなら、ＣＤ作成機能を使えば、フェードインアウト、音圧自動調整、ＣＤ−ＴＥＸＴ対応なので、使える機能（ＣＵＢＡＳＥ４にもこの機能はない）。
このソフトだけで完結するのは時代遅れのソフトなので今日的ではないでしょうね。
