テレビ東京系の深夜番組、バーミリオン・プレジャー・ナイト内で放送され、後に5分番組として装いも新たに放送された「Oh!Mikey」の元がこの「フーコンファミリー」です。

既に「バーミリオン~」のDVDは何本か発売されており、その中に「フーコンファミリー」も収録されていますし、また、「Oh!Mikey」ではたっぷりとこのブラックでシニカルなマネキンソープオペラを愉しむことが出来ます。

しかし何と云ってもこちらが元祖。また、夕方に放送されていた「Oh!Mikey」に比べ、深夜枠ということもあってこちらのほうが若干ブラックでダーク。シニカルさが光ります（その分、「Oh!Mikey」ではより多彩な登場人物になっていますが）。

また、本DVDでは、「バーミリオン~」のDVDに収録されていないエピソードが幾つか収録されている他、監督（且つ脚本、撮影、編集でもある）石橋義正さんのインタビューや、その後ろに流れる撮影シーンなどもあり見逃せません。

「フーコン・ファミリー」（全8話）「フーコン・ファミリー　パート2」（全4話）「新フーコン・ファミリー」（全6話）が収録されていますが、少し内容のかぶるエピソードもあります。「Oh!Mikey」DVDより若干お値段は安めです。取り敢えずのお試し版としてどうでしょうか？

　「オー！マイキー」のルーツである「フーコンファミリー」ですが、もともとは「バミリオン・プレジャー・ナイト」という深夜番組の中でやっていた作品なのです。
　ということは、ただでさいも「オー！マイキー」は内容が濃いのに深夜番組であった「フーコンファミリー」はもっと内容が濃いということです。

昨今のひそかなブームとなったオー！マイキー。その前身がこのフーコンファミリーです。内容はというと、オー！マイキーからハマっていった私にとってはブラックジョークがキツすぎました(笑)両親の非道な発言ぶりでマイキーがかわいそうです(笑)しかしその世界観にハマっていってしまうのです。オー！マイキーからはいったファンには、ブラックジョークがちょっとキツすぎるな、と思う場面が多々あると思いますが、これを見ずしてオー！マイキーは語れません。そんなわけでこの天才的な内容の作品、フーコンファミリーを是非お買い求めください。
