~　新たに紙ジャケ（というよりゲータフォールド）で発売されたリマスターCD。丁寧な作りのジャケットはそれ自体が6Ｐの見開きジャケットとなっており、20Ｐのカラー・ブックレットが付いている。別に12Pのモノクロ・ブックレットが付属され、Alan~~ Licht氏の解説を翻訳したものと、オリジナルトラックの歌詞・対訳を掲載している。ジャケットにはLPリリース当時を再現した帯が付けられている。　リマスターに関しては、ドラム、ベースに関しては文句なしに向上していて、ギターの分解度も素晴らしい。ただ、ギターに関してはLPの柔らかさが無くなり、あまりにもパッキンパッキンな音は気になった。　Little~~ Johnny Jewel (Parts1 & 2) は彼らのデビューシングルでマーキームーンのような高揚感を持った名曲。残りのボートラはシングルのバージョンとも全く違っており、初お披露目だと思われる貴重な音源である。~

オリジナル・アルバムの素晴らしさについては周知のこととして触れないが、特筆すべきはボーナストラックである。アナログ盤・旧CD盤を持っている方にこそお奨めの一枚。
Little Johnny Jewel (Parts 1 & 2)　ライヴ音源では知られているがスタジオ録音版が聴けるのが嬉しい。極めてシンプルなリフ（笑いを誘うほど）と異様なギターソロ弾きまくりというスタイルでライヴ向きの曲だったことが窺える。
See No Evil (Alternate Version)　オリジナルでは左チャンネルから聴こえるメインリフが右チャンネル、左からは別途やたら弾きまくりのギターが聴こえ面白い。オリジナルの中間部かっこいいギターソロは、そのトラックからの部分採用のようだ。
Friction (Alternate Version)　空間系エフェクターのかけ方がオリジナルと異なる印象で、この名曲の違った味わいが楽しめる。
Marquee Moon (Alternate Version)　ファンであればこの超名曲を何百回と聴いているので、ギターフレーズの一音一音が脳裏に刻み込まれ固定化しまっているのは私だけではあるまい。このボーナストラックにより、トム・ヴァーレインがよく「この曲は極めて多様に演奏できる」という趣旨でコメントしていたその片鱗を享受することができ、本来は生ものである音楽というものを再認識させてくれる。
Untitled Instrumental　これまたかっこいい未発表曲。調子よくギターを弾いているトムが途中リフの音をはずして弾くのを止め、そのまま最後までバックのトラックのみ。という状況（推測）が窺がえるのも一興。

　ニュー・ヨーク・パンクを代表するバンド，テレヴィジョンの1stアルバムの紙ジャケ＆リマスター盤です。
このアルバムに収録されている神経を直接刺激してくるサウンドを聴いていると，まるで自分自身の神経がピックで弾かれるギターの弦になった様な，ヒリヒリとしてそれでいてこの上もない快感となっていくのです。
これは初めてこのアルバムを聴いた時以来少しも変わりません。
所謂パンク・ロックのほとんどがこの四半世紀の歴史の中で風化したり別な物へと姿を変えてしまった中，この『Marquee Moon』は風化するどころか，その冷たく輝く氷の炎は今でも孤高の輝きを保っているのです。
　ボーナス・トラックとしては1stシングルである『Little Johnny Jewel』（このシングル・ヴァージョンは初めて聴きました）の他３曲のテイク違いナンバーと，１曲のインスト・ナンバー（これが実に謎です(^^;)が収録されています。
