最近ビセンテ･アミーゴ（Vicente Amigo）が私のお気に入りである。「魂の窓 （Vivencias Imaginadas）」「イデアの街（La Ciudad De Las Ideas ）」と聞込んできたが、今回「音の瞬間（Un Momento En El Sonido）」と一緒に入手したのがこの作品である。ビセンテの他の作品はギターを惹き立てるために時々歌が挿入されてゐるやうな作風だが、これはそれらの作品とは一線を劃した仕上りとなつてゐる。ペレ（Pele）との合作であるだけに、歌が前面に出て来てゐる。勿論、ビセンテのギターも素晴しい。
やはり、フラメンコは歌が心にしみる。私は特に「Acontecio」が気に入つてゐる。

ペレは熱〜く歌う人です。
でも、これだけでは、聞き手にとっては暑苦しいだけ？かもしれません。

このアルバムでは、目立たない音量の低音部と、リズムパターンとしてのパルマ（手拍子）が、音楽の骨格をしっかり作っています。
その上で、ペレが自由に歌い、ビセンテがさり気なく、しかし、「ここぞ」という時には、あの鋭いギターで、しっかりキメテいます。

さすがー！！

　タイトル「Canto」は「私は、歌う」という意味。このタイトルどおり、日頃のビセンテのアルバムでは、どちらかといえば太陽に対する月となっている歌い手ペレが、その本領を発揮している意欲作だ。ペレは、ジプシー流のぎりぎりの高音域を得意とするフラメンコ歌手である。また、低音域もフラメンコのアイレ（雰囲気、空気）たっぷりの情趣ある歌い方をする。要は、魅力的な声の持ち主なのだ。
　そして、それに添えられるビセンテのギターとも相性はばっちりである。日頃から、カンテソロの場合、カンテとギターには相性があるように感じている私にとっては、このアルバムは、文句なしの最高傑作である。
