   遊戯王オリジナルカードゲームのルールを適用した「エキスパート」シリーズの第3弾。遊戯王世界大会での公式ソフトでもあり、カードゲームにおいての対戦やカード検索などシミュレータとしての機能が強化されている。

   本作はゲーム性を盛り上げるためのストーリーやエンディングなどを極力のぞき、「遊戯王デュエルモンスターズ」というカードゲーム（ゲームソフトではありません）のシミュレータとしての機能に特化している。自分の実際に作ったカードデッキの実力などを本作で試してみて欲しい。もちろん原作に出てくる個性的なデュエリストたちが独自のデッキで待ちかまえている。

   前作からさらに追加された機能として対戦相手のデッキの傾向と強さが表示される。自分のデッキの強さを確認したい時や、デッキをくみ上げる時の指針として非常に役立つだろう。通信ケーブルを使用することで友だち同士の対戦も可能。（岡田幸司）

　最近のカードが全然入っていない。（新たなる支配者まで）公式ページの「グラナドラ」の画像に騙された感じ。
　新しいキャラの出現条件が謎。ただひたすら闘うだけでは、出てこない
　更にひどいのは、ＣＰＵのデッキに制限が掛かっていないこと。「エクゾディア」のパーツ５種類、強欲な壺、天使の施し３枚ずつのレアハンター。

サンダーボルト、ブラックホール等が３枚ずつの海馬。
　「ストーリーを排除した完全なデュエルシュミレーター」と言う割には全然使えない感じ。

全世界公式版にしたいのはわかりますが､ここはDMシリーズの最先端のシリーズを常に排出している日本です｡ギャップがありすぎて正直あ然としてます｡
おまけに収録シリーズの中でも採用されてないカードもあるし･･･

うちの周りではこのゲームではデッキが組めなくなってみんな売りに出すor箱にしまって封印状態です｡

前作のＥＸ２から約２年、その間にＯＣＧのほうは１０パック(約４３０枚)も新しいカードがでているのにこのゲームにはその中から１００数枚しか追加されていない。開闢や混沌を使えると思って買ったのに・・・期待はずれです。
