　さえないバーを経営する元ボクサーの中年おやじ。あるとき彼は儲け話をもちかけられる。巨大えびとのボクシングを見世物にして一儲けしないか？最初は乗り気で無かった彼だったが、えびを目の前にして決意する。一つ博打をうってみるか！

　おふざけのまとまりない映画かと思っていたのですが、シリアスなほろ苦ストーリーでした。例えるなら、キングコングとＥＴとエレファントマンを混ぜた感じでしょうか(^^;

　この映画はイギリスの作品なのですが、せっかく作ったのに動物愛護団体に反対され上映されるのは日本で初なのだとか。ターミネーターのような残酷映画はいくらでも上映されているのにどうしたことでしょう？私はこの映画からは動物（えび）への愛しか伝わって来なかったのですが、彼らの基準はいったいなに？宇宙人だったらパスなんでしょうかね(^^; 皮肉にも、この映画の中でも”カンガルーのようなかわいい動物とボクシングやったら文句言われるだろうが、エビなら醜いし、皆が普通に食べてる生き物なんだから問題ないだろう”というくだりがあります(^^;でも現実は架空のえびでも、上映できなかったのです。そういったバックストーリーを知った上でみると良いでしょうね。是非日本だけでもヒットしてほしいのですが、レイトショーだし難しいだろうな....。しかし、カルトムービーになる要素は大かな (^^;
　ポスターや宣伝グッズに使われているエビはザリガニなのですが、この映画に出てくるのはシャコタイプのエビ（マンティスシュリンプ）です。なんでこのエビをグッズにしないのかね。こっちの方がカワイイのに(^^;

出る映画ではなかったかもしれない。
団体による圧力などの諸事情があったからこそ、
DVDに「なってしまった」映画だという感想を抱くことのほうが当然、であろう。
しかし、この映画はいい映画である。
えびボクサーという名前から、「えび」が主役なのだとカンチガイしてしまってはまったく楽しめないだろう。
むしろ、「えび」は小道具にしかすぎない。

「えび」を見る映画ではないのだ。
なんにも刺激がない人生に与えられたリーサルウェポン。
それをどう使うか・・・・役者の好演技が光る。
繰り返して言う。この映画は、「えび」を見る映画じゃない。

単館上映から全国に広がったくっだらないスポ根？？？映画。
えびがボクシングをするという発想からおかしいです。
若干くどい場所もあるけれど、商売から愛への転換するあたりから面白さが倍になります。
えびが餌をすすっている姿を見ているオヤジがなんとも微笑ましく見えてくるから不思議です。
最後のシーンは見逃せません。
