ジャック・ジョンソンをカレッジ・ラジオのお気に入りとしてしか知らない人には、嬉しい驚きの1枚。波乗り好きでエレクトリックやチルアウトの音楽が好きな人には特にいい。「サーファー」誌のプロジェクトとして、2000年のビデオ・オブ・ジ・イヤーに輝いたのは、元々はサーフィンのチャンピオンからUSC映画学校の学生となったジョンソンと、学校の同級生、クリスとダン・マロイとのコラボレーションだった。だが、ジョンソンは喜んでその機会を、“サーフ・ミュージック”が中心の言葉になり得るものだと純粋に証明してみせた。確かに、エレクトリックな楽器はここにはほとんど見られず、ディック・デイルやゲイリー・ホーイのようにこのジャンルの雄に伝統的な丸鋸のような音はない。代わりにジョンソンは有機的に集中させたアコースティック中心のコレクションとして、小川のほとりの木陰でも、日射しの降り注ぎ、波が寄せるビーチでもぴったりの曲を集めた。
