   同人ゲームとして異例の大ヒットを記録した作品を原作に製作されたTVアニメーション作品。幼い頃、大事故にあいながらも奇跡的に一命を取り留めた少年・遠野志貴。それをきっかけにして、彼には人の目には見えない「モノの壊れやすい線」（＝そこに刃物を通せばどんなモノでも壊すことが出来る線）が見えるようになっていた。事件後、親戚の家に預けられ、線を見えなくする眼鏡をかけることで日常生活を営んできた志貴は、高校生になり、父の死を契機に実家へと戻る。だがその町では連続殺人事件が発生しており、彼はその背後にある吸血鬼の戦いへと巻き込まれていく。日常世界での生活と、非日常の戦いの世界、そして互いの世界で志貴を取り巻く複数の少女たちの狭間で思い悩む少年を描く、青春ホラードラマが展開する。（田中 元）

原作では冷静で渋いおじさま且つとんでもなく強い死徒である「混沌」ネロ・カオス。彼はこの「真月譚 月姫」には出ていません。
これに出ているのはものすごくへたれなネ口（ねぐち）さんです。いきなり逆ギレしてあっさり返り討ちにあうヘタレっぷり。ただの人間の志貴を追いつめることもできずにばっさりやられています。

なんでも、「シリアスな作品には笑いは不要」という監督の方針でシエル先輩がカレーを食べるのも琥珀さんが常に笑顔なのもネロの混沌の獣に鹿・象・ワニがいるのも、主人公の志貴が常に半死半生の体なのに前向きなのもすべてカットされています。

んー、あえて褒めるところがあるとしたらアルクェイドを追いつめるのが創世の土ではなく大量の蛇なのでなんとなく触手プレイに見えないこともない、ということぐらい。

プロデューサーが本当に危機感を覚えたほどに視聴者をほっぽって（監督の）自己満足に走った作品です。それでもいいという方のみショッピングカートへ入れてください。

ハッキリ言って、この巻は僕的にはガッカリの一言です。
先ずはアルクの部屋。とても普通なマンションです。あぁ、もうアレですね・・・桜美かつしさん原作やり直せって感じですね。
僕が月姫で楽しみにしていた七夜君覚醒のシーン・・・・・。
あり得ません、終わってます、ネロさんが浅はか過ぎる、ダメです。

七夜君の名ゼリフ　「さぁ、殺し合おうか、ネロ・カオス」
これがありません。一月姫ファンとしては、ショックでした。
さらに、ネロさんとの闘いが終わった後、アルクがキスしてきます。
あり得ません、いつの間に志貴君の評価がそこまで上がっていたのだろう？

とにかく、矛盾点が多すぎます。これを買う方は、覚悟して買ったほうがいいと思います・・・・

悪名高き第３話は確かに戦闘が省略された感があるが、アルクの部屋での志貴とアルクの会話シーンの、心情と雰囲気を意識した細かい演出などが「日常的」の「非日常」という桜美監督スタイルの真骨頂といえる。
この辺りからこの作品の方向性が見えてくる。
