メーカーについて

   日本インダストリアル・デザイナーの巨匠、柳宗理（Sori Yanagi）。オリンピックの聖火台や家具、食器、カトラリーなど、作品広範囲に及ぶ。1952年、柳工業デザイン研究会を設立。以来、一貫して「使いよさ」を追及し続ける。その思想には、父であり日本民芸運動の中心的存在であった柳宗悦の影響も少なくない。鍋の持ち手、キッチンツールのカーブ。それら一つ一つが、立体模型により実際に使い勝手を検証しながら生み出されていく。ストイックなまでに贅をそぎ落とし、フォルム、使いやすさ、美しさ、すべてにおいて洗練されたものだけが残る。

とにかくバターが塗り易いです。子ども達にも使い易いらしく、みんなこればかり使いたがります。バターナイフはこれまで、木で出来たもののデザインや暖かみが好きで何本も持っていますが、あまりにも家族の人気がこれに集中しているので、家族の人数分、買い足そうと思っています。

使い勝手がいいのは工業デザイナー、柳宗理のものであるから
当然として（当然じゃないデザイナーの方も多いですが）
その上、美しい。
私が一番驚いたのはスプーン。
口に含んだときの感覚。
まさか、こんなところまで計算されているなんて。

アイスクリームを食べた後、しばらくスプーンを口から
出すことが出来ませんでした。

ぜひ、この感覚を味わってほしいです。

仕事柄いろいろな種類のものを見たり使ったりしてきましたが、ここ３年ほどはこれに落ち着いています。適度な重みがあって使い良い、マット仕上げで傷などが気にならない、うるさくないデザイン、シンプルすぎるほどシンプルだけど美しい曲線、という理由でとても気に入っています。１年ほど海外で生活していましたが「漆塗りの箸」とこの「柳宗理のカトラリー」はプレゼントすると喜ばれました。
