   長さは5.5cm、折り畳んだときの厚さは5mm。付属の専用ケースに入れて、旅行に持って行くもよし、バッグにしのばせておくもよし。場所は取らないのに、ひとたび取り出せばたっぷり時間をかけて使いたくなる。

もう13年くらい使ってます。10年が経ったところ、ちょっと切れ味が落ちたなぁ〜と思いましたが、今でも問題なく使えます。それほど丈夫なものです。ただ、サイズが小さいから、足指の爪など、厚めの爪を切るにはちょっと力がいるかもしれません。
あと、折り畳み方もかなり面白いです。友達に使わせたら、開け方が知らない人もいたりして、遊び心の込めた一品でもあります。とにかくお勧めです。

この爪切りは村上春樹読者が捜し求めていたものではないでしょうか?
あの名作 "世界の終わりとハードボイルドワンダーランド" の35章で
主人公が金物屋で購入し、図書館勤務の女性にプレゼントした爪切り。
これが "のっぺりとした五センチほどの長さのステンレス・スティールの金属片" と書かれたあの爪切りです。

携帯性に優れ切れ味もそこそこよいのですが、全長が小さいためか厚い爪を切るときには若干力が必要です。
足の爪を切るのには向かないでしょう。

しかし、このような "所有する喜び" を感じさせる爪切りは他にありません。
なかなかの逸品です。

海外旅行に行く時にかさばらないのでいつも携帯しています。
つめきりの裏側にある細いところで足の爪が食い込んだりしたときにも
自分で対応できるので重宝しています。
