子供に見せるバレエとしてすすめられて買いましたが、内容は素晴らしいの一言です。あの有名なピーターラビットのキャラクターそのものの衣装とかぶりものをしながらの、素晴らしいバレエ、そして美しい湖水地方の風景。才能のある大人たちがユーモアとプロフェッショナリズムを持って制作したと思われる傑作です。ダンサーたちも凄いです。振りつけはアシュトン（本人も出演）、ダンサーには、84年版「くるみ」の金平糖役のコリア、それから、ウェイン・スリープやマイケル・コールマン（ジャンプが素晴らしい！）などなど。大人も大好きになってしまうビデオだと思います。私は子供と一緒に読もうと、絵本も揃えてしまいました。オススメです。

美しい風景、厳格そうな家庭、そしてのびのびと踊りまわる動物たち！とても「おはなし」風の作りで、イギリス人のこだわりがいっぱいつまった映画と感じました。バレエがここまで演劇的とは思っていなかった人も多いのではないでしょうか。振り付けのアシュトンの面目躍如といったところです。２歳の姪がいるので見せようと思って購入しましたが、予想以上のすばらしいダンスに私のお気に入りになりました。（ちなみに姪のお気に入りはカエルのフィッシャーどんです。他の話の部分はまだあまりわからないみたい。）動物たちの動きは流れるように自然に感じますが、音楽を消して見ると、ますますその「演技」のすばらしさに驚きます。さすがはロイヤル。しかしBOXセットで買う必要はないかも。オリジナルのトートバックと映画場面の絵葉書セットがついてますが、妥当な価格設定とは思えませんので星４つ。単体のDVDで充分楽しめると思いますよ。

この映画が日本で公開されたのは30年位前なので映像・音声ともに良い状態とは言えませんが、ロイヤルバレエ団の当時のスター達が踊ったということに大変価値がある作品です。動物の被り物は踊りに支障がないように軽量に作製された事もかなり話題になりました。2003年6月に1日限定の上映会があり久々に観て懐かしくなり購入しましたが、おまけが付いていても少々値段が高いように思いました。
